Okay, so maybe avoiding the meeting Omi called wasn't the best idea. (Definitely not the best idea. But he had a really bad feeling about the whole mess, and well...Nectar didn't close for a while yet. He could take his time going over there.
So he was walking through Espoir. No reason, really, it was just where his wandering feet took him.
And someone else, apparently. A girl, in the middle of the road, screaming foul...and then Sena realized what she was screaming about, and...well, there was something they had in common, at least. Pretty fucking pathetic thing to find common ground about. 'Oh, you're dead before 20? Me too! How'd you bite it, huh?'
At least it was a nice enough day to be in the middle of the street without shoes on. (And wearing a leotard? Did she fall and break her neck on a balance beam?)
None of those questions or somewhat (rather) bitter asides entered into his greeting, though. If she were new to Somarium, she'd have enough to deal with. "Hey, you alright?"
Stomping around disgusted with all the fucking plant life, Senji glared at everything around him. The plants mostly. They were just in the damned way. Tangling over everything.
Tch. Never had anything like this in the prison unless you went to Hummingbird's room.
Kicking a flower, he heard some girl bitching about something. Damn girls were always doing that. Never happy about anything. And never dressing like they could actually cover up their bodies. He couldn't understand that.
All the same, Senji headed that direction. To see her, see she was just like every other fucking chick, then leave.
Quiet and subtle were rarely words that could be applied to Ed, but if there was ever one thing that could shock him into momentary silence it was loud teenage girls. Which is exactly what he was dealing with here, only she didn't seem to be yelling at anyone in particular.
Ed had been lucky so far, in that he had yet to actually bump into a new arrival while they still had no idea what was going on - it was hard enough being one, nevermind having to explain the whole situation to someone else
( ... )
"That's never stopped them before," Rachel said darkly, looking for the sound of he voice. She caught side of a short blonde kid and sigh.
"Who're you, where are we, and what the hell is going on?" she asked flatly. "Details aren't necessary, but I'd like to at least know what planet this is."
Or ... Maybe she was just insane. That was always a possibility.
"I'm Edward Elric." He'd been here long enough to know that got him no degree of recognition, despite the instinctual expectation that he'd at least been heard of. Still, the straight forward route seemed to be the approach she was going for, and he could handle that mentality. Even if a question about what planet they were on was enough to throw him off, he pretended otherwise.
"We're in a world called Somarium. The thing is apparently we're not really here, we're just stuck in a dream - and our real selves are living life like this never happened. That's the theory, anyway. The little thing you probably found when you got here is how people communicate with each other, but when you sleep it also records your dreams. I guess privacy isn't a big thing in this place. It's pretty unpredictable, but to be honest I don't know much else about it, myself."
"My name is Rachel," she said skeptically. She looked at the cell phone; lots more buttons than any one she'd ever seen. Any one from good ol' Earth, anyway.
"That isn't possible," she said flatly. "I'm dead."
Kazuki was in a bit of a funk, and so he was out for a run, even in this heat, to clear his head. He wasn't sure where he'd been for the past week or so, but he knew he wasn't asleep, and he had no memories of anything that had happened.
He heard shouting, and changed his direction, until he saw her.
"HEY!" he called, trotting after her. "Who are you shouting at?"
Rachel stopped, mainly from discomfort. She was barefoot and the ground was hurting her feet. Granted, it wasn't comparable to being clawed to death by a polar bear, but it still hurt.
Hastily, he sat down on the ground and pulled off his sneakers. The tall Japanese runner's feet were probably much bigger than hers, but it was better than nothing, right? "Here."

And belatedly realized what a sight she must have been. God, how long since she'd worried about that? It was so much a part of the job now...
"Yeah, fine," she said briskly. Already her feet were starting to burn; the street was getting hot. "Why?"

"Just heard you screaming injustice. Don't think whoever you're pissed at is going to hear you."
How best to go about this? The subtle way, or the 'drop-it-like-a-hot-rock' way?
"You're in another world, a dream world. It's called Somarium."
Sena never did get the hang of subtlety.

She couldn't help looking from side to side. Seriously. This had 'Drode' written all over it. Why the hell wasn't he claiming the credit?
Why wasn't she dead?

Are you okay?

For a given definition of okay... maybe.

[He's not really sure how to take that. But he manages a smile for her.]

...That I have no idea what you're talking about should tell you the answer to that, I guess.

The end.

"Problem?" she snapped.

How could she go around showing off that much skin?!
His one eye widened. "What the fuck are you wearing?"

And she wasn't in the mood to be questioned.
As a result, she was quite brief.
"None of your business."

Not that it wasn't nice to offer, but.
"Uh. Don't you need those?"
