When he first came across the young man who couldn't be much older than him, Alec, at first, raised an eyebrow and intended to keep running. He was tired of talking to strangers, and he was sure the guy could manage on his own. But then his eyes caught sight of a familiar black tattoo - a Mark. One that every Shadowhunter had on the back of one of their hands, one that kept their eyes from being deceived by glamours.
He stopped short, staring and puzzled. He didn't recognize this person at all, but a Shadowhunter was a Shadowhunter... and if this guy was one... well, they needed to stick together, didn't they?
"Hey," he said in greeting.

Of course he recognized the face. His fingers twitched reflexively, wanting to close into a fist, but resisting. Calm.
Jonathan was no mind-reader. He did, however, understand how to read human emotion on faces. It was a skill he had picked up in order to perfect the art of faking it himself. When he was younger, he used to study his own version of 'happy,' 'sad', 'shocked', and the like in the mirror, until he almost believed the expressions were real.
The look on pretty boy's face said he had no idea who he was talking to. Most strange. Well, then. Time to play.
"Hello," Jonathan greeted, putting on his friendly, approachable smile, though ready to spring if there had been any slight miscalculation in the situation.

Considering his lack of sword, that really wasn't such an awful thing.
Jonathan smiled, putting on his relief face. If he played nice for now, he could get more out of the boy than if he cut right to the chase and started swinging. After all, there could be others. There probably were. And Jonathan was banking on Alec leading him right to them.
"Yes, I am. I'm Sebastian Verlac," Jonathan introduced, extending his right hand.

Fingering her newly acquired wand in her pocket, she nodded in greeting, asking, "Excuse me, are you new here?"

He was hardly intimidated by the shorter female. Curious, if anything. Slightly amused. Until she made an aggressive move, however, he could be cordial. He needed information. He had every hope of charming his way into it.
It wasn't as satisfying as using brute force, but it wouldn't attract as much attention either.

"My apologies for being so rude just then," he rattled on, lowering his eyes and staring at the snow in "shame". "I've no idea where I am, or how I got here, and my I'm terribly cold in addition. Please forgive me if I was less than civil just now."

That made him pause, and unplug an earphone. The man's clothes weren't suitable for the season as well, so he must be new.
Somewhere deep down, there was already a feel warning him that this man can be dangerous. Minato, however, never was one to judge by appearance nor flair, so he brushed aside these light concerns as he took a step towards the stranger instead of walking away.
"You shouldn't throw that away, the Dreamberry can be very useful." He commented, figuring that with the impressions that this man was giving him, he should probably wait to be asked questions first instead of starting to explain anything on his own.

How disappointing. The mundanes here were just as trivial as the lot he had left behind.
"Indeed?" And how would a cell phone serve him any better than his sword in this unfamiliar place? He wasn't going to place calls - he might, however, have use for a weapon.
"Forgive me for being so direct," Jonathan asked after a moment of deliberation, flashing his polite smile. "But might I ask where I am, exactly?"

"That's no problem. This is Somarium, a dream world. People from all sorts of different worlds are brought here under an unconscious state, and so far, no one knows how to willingly leave. That cellphone is called a Dreamberry, and it allows you to stay in contact with everyone else here. We're all given one at our arrival." Minato fished out his, a deep-blue one from his pocket, and fiddled a bit with it. He's heard of instances where the Dreamberry transforms into the form of an object that its owner is close to, but so far he's really had no problems with how they're originally modeled. It should look no different than the stranger's, other than maybe the color scheme.

Father, was he here? The thought occurred to him at random, although given the information he had just received about the cell phone with every arrival, Sebastian could probably look into the matter himself when he was alone. It would be stupid to run around asking about the whereabouts of Valentine. It was no time to forget about tact.
Sebastian reached down and plucked the discarded device from the snow, staring at it again. "Are the calls monitored on this?" Considering that they were handed over so freely.

Draco's eyes flicked from the odd looking bloke, sniffing the air - honestly, who did that? - down to the now-discarded Dreamberry in the snow, as he began a tentative approach, circling slightly while still keeping his distance. This one looked rather paranoid, after all.

He followed the boy's movements with interest, wondering what he was doing. "Where did you come from?"

Boredly, he slowed his circling, eyes never leaving Jonathan. "My house, I would think. Strange little notion that is. Where did you come from?"
Reply
"Where is 'here', exactly? I could use a point of reference."
