Is it free food?

Bat arrives in the form of Camazotz and severs the rope with the sharp end of one wing. He reverts to human form upon landing, frowning at the man. Sleeping?

"What were you doing?" Perhaps he should have let him hang for a bit longer.

As the rope is cut, Nozomu drops with a loud THUD and wakes up.

"WHAT IF I HAD DIED?" He quickly snapped to the stranger without thinking.

He pauses to the stranger's question for a while before finally answering.

"I- don't remember..." There was something that drove him to depression during his scouting of the land, but the exhaustion must have made him fall asleep in the middle of his preparations for suicide.

Though it wasn't much, he mentioned what he did remember before collapsing into sleep.

"If you'd died," Bat answered simply, "then I would have eaten you." Certainly no one could get onto him for devouring someone who was already deceased, right?

He didn't remember why he'd hung himself from a tree, but he'd definitely done it himself? The people of Somarium were strange. He tapped the hilt of one of the blades at his hip. "Should I give you another reason? I'm very hungry."

"...Eat? CANNIBALS?" There were cannibals around this area?

"HIIIEEEE!" Nozomu screams, backing away a significant distance and shaking on his feet. He didn't want to get eaten! And what if his body ended up poisoning him?

...Ai-san may have influenced him too much.

Trying to get a felony?

There's easier ways to do it.

Felony...? No! ...Are there even courts in this world?

I was just trying to get over... something.

[nope, still can't recall what drove him to hang himself. Stupid sleep.]

...Trying to get over something by killing yourself?

Of course! A famous playwright once said "The solution of every problem is another problem". Therefore, every problem must be solvable by the ultimate problem of death!

Nosy.[ooc: blah, can't think for a better word at the moment]

People who force their solutions on others are too afraid to try it on themselves!

Hiei stares up at the person's body hanging on a noose, thinking how ridiculous it seemed as the person dangles from it. When the snore came in, the half breed almost started to walk away, but seriously, it wasn't the first time he had seen something this stupid happening. The half breed continues to eye the hanging man rather suspiciously. Of course, no words were said as he watched the snoring human. He almost smirked at the sight of the man.

He crossed his arms and stood on one of the nearby objects to keep his balance on. He wondered how long before they died, or something would happen in the matter of minutes or something along those lines.

Cut from the noose, Nozomu spots the boy staring. Another cannibal waiting to eat him?

"W-what is it?" Maybe he is not what he seems. ...Right?

Hiei only looked him over with a flat face. Of course, when the guy spoke, he almost started to feel sorry for the bastard, only he didn't. The half breed parted his lips to speak in a rather cold manner, though at the same time it hinted some amusement.

"You're pathetic," he mused, in a simple term, but it didn't seem to matter to him if he was being a jack ass about it. He wasn't a cannibal, and indeed this half breed was is not what he seems at all.

Surprise Criticism? He gave the boy a questioning glance.

No, that was a given, wasn't it? There was nothing he has done to be proud of. Everything he's done in his life has been a mistake. Nozomu had no objection to the statement. "Of course I am, ever since I was born." he stated matter-of-factly.

Heeeeeey, mister! If you're trying to make yourself taller, try high heels. They're a little easier.

I wasn't trying to make myself taller.

[Deja vu. There were others that thought like that?]
