Who: Danny Fenton and anyone who joins.
Where: Espoir
Style:  Third
Status:  Very open.

Danny punches a number into his Dreamberry while he walkes, and then holds it up to his ear. After a moment he sighes and punches in another number (maybe the same one as before), repeating the process. It looks as though he's been at this for a while.

Rena was glad to see that she wasn't the only person who had just recently arrived in this world. This boy's sudden out burst gave her the impression that he was just as (if not more) confused about the nature of this place as she was.

"Um, excuse me. Do you need some help?"

Danny turns towards her quickly, looking a little embarrased to have have been caught talking to himself. "No thanks, uh, sorry. I'm just..." He gestures to the castle, wrinkling his nose. "Trying to work stuff out."

Pause.

"Hey, you wouldn't happen to know what this place is, would you?

Rena nodded "I understand."

"Well, from what people have told me this place is called Somarium. They have also said something about this being a "dream world" but Rena doesn't understand what they mean by that though."

"Somarium..." He mumbles to himself, not looking happy. After all, this sort of confirms that he has absolutel no idea where he is.

Hold on a second. "Dream world?" He repeats, looking skeptical. "But we're not dreaming. Or are we?" He pinches his arm experimentally while he talks.

Coincidentally enough, Jet was up in a tree as Danny walked by, deep in his own thoughts. He didn't miss the other boy--he never let down his guard--but ignored him instead.

Up until the outburst, at least. Deciding to help a lost soul out (and it wasn't as if he had anything better to do), Jet jumped down from the tree. Ah, how he had missed doing that.

"That's just one of the many mysterious of this place," he said. "I take it you're new, or was that just a random thought that crossed your mind?"

Danny whirls around when Jet speaks up, having been sure he was alone. Apparently he doesn't make the connection of where he'd jumped down from, yet, because Danny's eyeing him as though he might spontaneously vanish and appear again.

"Uh, yeah. I'm new. So you don't know either?" He frowns a bit, then takes his Dreamberry out to show. "And this wouldn't happen to be another one of those mysteries, would it?"

(( OOC: Eeee, Jet! <3 ))

Jet shrugged. "You learn not to question these things after a while." The sight of the Dreamberry made him grin, however.

"You could say that. It's called a Dreamberry--you can watch other people's dreams with it. It's kind of embarrassing at first, but you get used to it." That seemed to be the rule for everything in Somarium: Get used to it.

((OOC: <3 Though I'm still not sure if I have his voice right. >>;))

"I guess so," Danny mumbles, looking resigned.

"Dreamberry," he repeats, looking both incredulous at its name and uncomfortable at its use. "How does that even work? And, uh, why would you want to watch other people's dreams, anyway? Isn't that an invasion of privacy?" Hopefully he'll catch on to that rule soon enough. It'd probably be easier for him if he stopped questioning things, though.

(( OOC: <3 All characters are just our interpretations of them, in the end. If you wanted an actual answer, though, I think you're doing just fine.~ 8) ))

Having been given the afternoon off by Maka at her very firm request, Kid had gone out for a stroll- and run across yet another person that he didn't recognize. That's become more and more common, lately, and every time he's hopeful that someone he knows will show up. Still, it wouldn't hurt to make some new contacts, and the boy doesn't look particularly asymmetrical, so he walks over to him.

"Ah, that's a question many people have pondered, I'm sure. It most likely has something to do with the ghosts."

"Ghosts?" Danny repeats, too distracted by that all-important word to feel embarrased over being caught talking to himself. "But this isn't the Ghost Zone--uh, not that I'd know much about that... Anyway, I, uh, haven't seen any ghosts flying around the castle, either. Why do you say they'd be responsible?"

In spite of his doubt, it's an amazingly answer for him to accept.

After all, when in doubt, see if ghosts are involved.

He nods, vaguely wondering what the 'Ghost Zone' could be. He resists the urge to say something along the lines of 'it's always the bloody ghosts,' even though he's thinking it, because that wouldn't be proper conversation. "Oh, they stay inside the castle, mostly. They live there. Besides, most of the stranger things around here are caused by the ghosts, you'll come to find." And there's something worrying him, too, about the boy's wavelength; it seems normal enough for a human soul, but there's a disquieting element that he can't put his finger on.

If he were to have said it, he probably would have gotten absolute agreement on Danny's part. After all, it simply is.

Danny frowns a little at that news, but doesn't look surprised. "What kind of things do the ghosts do? Isn't there anyone around who can stop them, like ghost hunters, or something?"

He seems unaware of Kid's interest in his 'wavelength'. Danny also gives no sign of whether he's noticed anything off about Kid's 'wavelength' in return (which there probably is, considering how much contact Kid has with death.)

(( Er, aside from names and general character relations, I don't know all that much about Soul Eater. Would Danny's ghost sense be telling him anything about Kid? Or is Kid something different from ghosts completely?))

Ciel has always wondered the exact same thing about the castle himself. It's presence - in his opinion - betrayed a lot of things to do with gravity, and physics and all related areas.

Usually, he wasn't really one to offer his word unless it was needed. However, seeing as this new person was rather close by, and also happened to be the first to wonder about the castle in question, that and happened to know as much as he did about this place - which was nothing, Ciel managed to meander over - arms crossed, to offer a rather stoic;

"I don't know."

Pause.

"But I'd like to." He may as well admit it.

[[ i used to watch that show all the timeeeee. xDD. ]]

Danny stops and looks at him, looking unsure of how to react to such stoicism. Seriously, that's wierd!

"It's crazy," he says, looking back up at the castle. "But considering what I've found out about this place up till now, it fits right in. Do you think it has anything to do with ghosts?

(( It was an awesome show, no? <333 ))

Ciel cast his eye to the castle once more as the other did, only to stop short once more and glance rather flatly to him.

"... Ghosts."

The boy almost continued with something scathing. But... all things considered, it probably wasn't too far off a theory.

"It's a reasonable assumption. I've yet to research further into it."

A pause.

"... What was that you had out before." Ciel was referring to the Dreamberry. Naturally, he possessed one also, but to say he's ever sat down to figure it out would have been somewhat of a lie.

[[indeed ;-;. it makes me terribly sad that i can't catch it on nick anymore due to lack of cable. xD. i've never seen anybody rp him before *_*. so cool /lame.

Danny looks uncomfortable, having noticed the almost arriving retort. All he can be is grateful that nothing was actually said. "Yeah, I guess it probably sounds crazy. That's what someone else said, though. I hear there's a library around--you can probably find more about them there." Deflection to other sources, go!

Danny takes his Dreamberry out, looking at it. "This? I dunno. I found it in my pocket instead of my cellphone, and everyone else seems to have one..."
