[ It's probably bad luck that Harry happens to be here as well. It's a bit more reminiscent than anything, but getting out of the cottage is better than staying there and mourning over Sirius' things. Still it comes as a shock to Harry that he manages to skate just a bit too close to a certain blond haired wizard. ]

[the worst luck. Especially since Draco had actually gone to the trouble of getting up and trying to skate even without his mother. He was never that good at it, but he certainly made a good efforrt.

[Until, of course, his darling ex-boyfriend skates too close, distracts him, and sends him falling to his arse rather painfully.]

[ Yup that's good for appearances. Maybe it's a good thing mommy dearest hadn't shown up yet, most likely she would have assumed Harry pushed him. As it is, Harry's not a complete arse as to not offer his help. He pushes his feet out to a stop, grateful for those lessons Tamaki gave him last year, and offers a hand out to Draco. ]

Here.

[Draco glances up, pursing his lips into a tight line. He hides heartbreak well, disguising it with annoyance as he accepts Harry's hand and hoists himself back to his feet.]

Thanks.

No problem.

[ And then it dawns on Harry, Draco was able to see his hand. ]

You, ah, got your vision back.

I did. [no thanks to you.] You think my mother would have let me out otherwise?

[for a moment, he looks amused, if not somewhat sceptical.]

[ Rub it in why don't you. ]

I suppose not.

[ And here's a really awkward sounding Harry. ]

I'm glad.

[awkward is pretty much how everything between them will go from here on out. Draco looks awkwardly at his hand, then briefly straightens himself out by way of distraction.]

Better than me being blind forever.

[ Quite a bit better but Harry's not sure how to respond to that. He shifts a bit awkwardly on his skates. ]

Yeah...

[ever the observant one, Draco studies him for a pregnant pause, not bothering to speak. It's silent - an awkward silence, of course - for a long while before he even tries it.]

It's done now, I suppose.

[like them, really.]

[ Isn't that the painful truth? ]

So...just out here by yourself then?

[ Yeah he's going to try for conversation, but it's really not easy. ]

For now. My mother...should be around.

At some point. [he hopes. Otherwise...yes. Very alone.]

[ Well if that wasn't an excuse to leave nothing was. He may be able to deal with being close to Draco, but seeing his family? Not going to happen. ]

I probably should go then.

[and Draco had been hoping he'd actually be willing to have a normal conversation. He doesn't let his disappointment show on his face, save a twitch of his lip.]

I...suppose so. You've probably people to find anyway. [because you have friends. Unlike Draco. Sob.]

[ Harry tries to hide his own regret, namely by turning away. ]

See you then.

[ He looks up when he does, and that's when it's a little too late. ]

[he doesn't say anything for a moment until he realises that Harry's staring at something. He glances up as well, silently cursing his absolutely rotten luck.]

Oh, for fuc-

[sadly, the draw of the mistletoe is too much for him to handle this time - it's him that initiates it, stepping a bit closer, and involuntarily putting up one hand to pull Harry into a firm kiss that would rather mimic the intensity of the kisses they shared while still dating.

[Merlin, how he hates himself right now.]
