Since their first conversation, it was obvious to Lelouch that there was something different about the young Phantomhive boy and his butler. They were an odd pair, a bit reclusive, the butler far too perfect. Ciel seemed intelligent, able to carry on a decent conversation, and capable of (what Lelouch hoped would be) a challenging game of chess. There were things about the boy, specifically his mannerisms, the secrecy, and his eye-patch, that Lelouch wanted more information about. It wasn't every day a thirteen year old boy with an eye-patch and a perfect butler (or so he seemed) was seen. Hopefully some of the young Emperor's questions could be answered during today's much needed visit.
The chess set, along with a pot of tea and two porcelain teacups, had been moved to a small table in the living room in anticipation of Ciel's arrival. This was a rare opportunity - most of the competitors in Britannia were at least five years older than Lelouch, if not more... and most of the competitors in Somarium (Schneizel being the exception) were not worthy of his time.
