Alice and Cosette had looked up traditional Italian cuisine for the dinner since the extent of Alice's knowledge towards the dishes of that region was various pastas with various sauces and her sister didn't know much more than her in that regard. Cosette, a wonderful cook, handled the meats and anything and everything Alice was not allowed to touch for fear of her hurting herself. There was one exception of course and that was dessert, that was Alice's favorite thing to cook, a chronic sweet tooth as she was. The table was set with the best china and silverware and tablecloth for five. Aurora and Tama had been put away in Alice's room for the evening and Alice was in one of her much nicer dresses. The smell of food filled the house and on several occassions, Alice's hand had been batted away so she wouldn't spoil her appetite with sampling all the dishes before hand. Fresh flowers were everywhere, as they always were since Alice had an affinity for them and the house was even cleaner than usual, although it maintained its well

It was a darling Alice that first greeted Cesare and he could not help but smile at the girl. She looked a fair bit like Lucrezia at that age, all done up in the most expensive Italian silks, golden hair in curls, face bright and smiling for her eldest brother. Cesare sighed at the sight and bowed his head.

"My dear Lady, you dressed up so nicely just for me?" the Cardinal asked. He reached out for her hand intent on taking a kiss from her small knuckles in part jest, when he spotted Cosette behind the younger girl.

Indeed with good fortune there would be a most explicit conquest made this night. Still holding Alice's hand, he straightened and bowed his head once again this time to Cosette.

"Mademoiselle, I see you have done the same. You both look a vision."

Alice giggled as she curtsied in greeting to the cardinal and offered him a polite, "how do you do your Eminence" when she opened the door. When he took her hand she couldn't help but blush deeply when he kissed it. Both because he was a holy man but mostly because people kissing her hand flustered her no matter what happened.

"Thank you very much!" Alice offered a bright smile up at the man. "Oh! Please come inside! Rene will be coming by just a little bit! Hmm? What's in your hand?"
