After all these days, weeks, months, years-and this is how much Dream Energy you people came up with? It's a miracle the barrier is still up! Even that still has that huge, gaping hole in it. Haven't those ( Read more... )

Dreams are not exactly under our conscious control.

[Oh, he's already had that conversation.]

Given the circumstances of my particular nightmares, I thank you for the warning. They fall easily enough without having to suffer through that horror.

Yeah. Though sometimes they can gang up on their target, and sometimes the quick kill is necessary. Let's hope that doesn't happen in your case.

They haven't been thus far. Although it does raise a curiosity--

[A noncommittal grunt.] Hn.

What is their origin? And how can the influx be staunched?

There are other places if that's what you're asking. Where do you think we came from? The sky?

No idea. The data's probably around somewhere, but I don't have it on me right now. If I had to guess, it would take about a week to travel to the mountain range by car.

A week. [Which translates to...forever otherwise, particularly in view of the creatures inhabiting the desert.]

And do these "other places" suffer the same afflictions? Random strangers pulled from other worlds and influxes of dangerous creatures?

There's an influx of the noctaere monsters everywhere, but let me tell you about your little situation here.

You're not even supposed to be here. So let's just hope that there are more people popping in. But that's all I can say right now, anyway.
