After all these days, weeks, months, years-and this is how much Dream Energy you people came up with? It's a miracle the barrier is still up! Even that still has that huge, gaping hole in it. Haven't those idiots told you anything?
Oh, wait, no. Of course they didn't. Because they're too busy thinking that even the simple basics of how this city works is "classified." [eye roll.] I just got stationed here and they want me to clean up their mess.
Look you...whatever you call yourselves. Outsiders, visitors, foreigners, aliens-we call you foreigners, by the way. Original, I know. Point is you're not from around here. Tonight's the first night of the new moon, and if you haven't realized by now we're in for a long week if this keeps up. No wait-[shuffles through some papers.] Ten days. This new moon is predicted to last ten days this time.
I can't tell you much. Trust me, it's better if you didn't know, and I'm already risking a lot just saying this much. But stay away from the Industrial District. If you're living there, I suggest finding a friend and get neighborly because things aren't looking good over there. Those military freaks don't take too kindly to civvies, sorry, and foreigner or not, you're a civilian. Those nycteren are already causing a big headache, we don't need more.
Oh yeah, who runs that poor excuse of a police force around here? I know there's one, and I know there's now something of an airport on that mountain. You guys don't exactly keep things "secret" around here. Anyway, I need to speak with whoever runs them. We might need your help.
[now giving a bit of a dry, exasperated look.] And if you can, don't dream anything bad or have any nightmares, got it? We had to use up a lot of those reserves just to finish repairing this place, and we're short. Dangerously short. So go dream whatever else you want, I don't care what. At this point we'll take anything.
[sigh.]
Now I know you all probably have questions because damn if I know anyone has contacted you in a while and I bet 99% of what I just said went in one ear and straight out the other. I even deliberately kept this short. I got time, but I'm not making any promises I can answer everything. Like I said, there are just some things that are better left unsaid. But I'll do my best, all right? Take it or leave it, I don't know when I or anyone else will be able to get on again, and there are worse people you could talk to.
