So there I stood, looking around this place that was not even remotely closely familiar to me in any way. It was no place I'd ever seen before, and I highly doubted I'd been abducted and taken here. If anyone were to kidnap me for any reason... well, I'm sure they'd have good reasons. And I can't say whether or not I'd be alive afterward.
But this place... well, oddly, even though I had no clue where in the hell I was, I felt strangely at ease. Sure, I was confused as fuck and a little worried about what I would do when nightfall came, but-... Wait a second. That wasn't the only thing I was worried about!
"Matt!!" I suddenly gasped, my eyes wide. Fucking hell! Was he alright?! I prayed he'd had on a bulletproof vest or something, or maybe his wounds weren't fatal... maybe they'd take him to the hospital, keep him alive for questioning? As my thoughts raced I frantically searched my pockets for my own phone, leaving the one I'd picked up at the house I had woken up in front of as I began to hurry in a random direction. I knew I had no clue where the hell I was, but... Maybe I could find someone to help me out.
As I was searching all of my pockets a second time, however... I pulled out the phone I could have sworn I'd just left at that house.
"...What the fuck?" I frowned a little, turning the thing over in my hands. Well... Maybe I hadn't put it down after all. I glanced up from it, looking for a place where I might be able to ask someone for directions. There was a nice church not too far ahead with a clock tower covered in ivy. Hopefully, there'd be someone there.
So I began to walk through the grass, fiddling with what I supposed was my new phone as I headed toward the path where it appeared I'd have to cross a little bridge before I could get to the church. I knew it was hopeless, since this wasn't actually my phone, but I tried looking for Matt in my contacts, anyway. No luck... but this sure did look like one hell of a phone. I would definitely have to look through that with more detail later.
This was starting to feel an awful lot like Wonderland. How curious, indeed.
