[ Sasuke, having absolutely nothing better to do, has taken to wondering the streets of Somni. He's all but exhausted the village, and that's what leads him to the Industrial District this day. He pauses as he catches sight of the obstacles that Mami has set up for herself. The young ninja recognizes a training course when he sees one and he leans against a wall to watch whatever this girls about to do. The transformation sequence takes him by surprise. That's definitely something new.
He continues to watch, both intrigued and vaguely impressed. It seems there really are a lot of strong individuals here. He shifts slightly and a beam of light catches from his forehead protector and shines out in a brief flash of light from the alley. ]
[ finally snapping out of her concentration from taking aim at the third barrel she's tossed into the air, she catches a glimpse at the shine from the corner of her eye. letting the barrel drop to the ground behind her, she turns to see that she has a bit of an audience. ]
[ Sasuke frowns slightly, but his face quickly goes back to neutral as he steps away from the wall and towards Mami. She actually doesn't look much older than him. ]
[Sayaka had made a habit of wandering around Somarium, due to always being on the look out for Eas. That girl always caused trouble, and Sayaka wasn't going to let it go. Plus, she looked a lot like a magical girl... There were many questions she wanted answered.
Or maybe it would be better just to kill her.
Sayaka hears some gunshots, and decides to check the source. Oh, it's Mami... training.]
Wouldn't it be better to fight against the monsters in the arena?
[ oh, a familiar spectator. upon hearing Sayaka's voice, she stops her fire. ]
I was thinking about heading there later in the week, now that you mention it. It's just been so long since I have used my magic, I decided some target practice might do me some good.
Regardless, might I ask what you're doing here, Miki-san? This really doesn't seem like a part of Somarium that anyone would enjoy taking a stroll around.
That's true. Don't want you hurting yourself too bad when you're in there, Mami-san. [Again.]
[... Oh. Right. Mami thought Sayaka didn't make a contract with Kyuubey. Maaaaybe it's time that she cleared things up, now that Madoka wasn't here.]
Well, I guess it's fine if I tell you. I'm on the lookout for this weird girl who keeps trying to wreck the city by turning random objects into monsters. It's happened twice already, and I can't just let her roam around as she pleases!
[ leaning against something or another to the side, arms crossed over his chest. he'd really just wandered over this way because he'd caught a glimpse of her and wondered what was up, but now -- after watching that transformation and then continuing to watch -- he can't help but be a little transfixed. it's far from scary, of course- children with magical guns and such don't scare him.
(manic chinese men with mind reading powers and guns do, however, scare him. Mami is a not any of that.)
green eyes glued to her, taking in her movements, and when she's moving to the next barrel after crunching the last, Suzaku doesn't stop himself from smiling and speaking up (not really wanting to break her concentration, but still wanting to say something). ]
That's... pretty cool. [ a beat. ] It's the first time I've seen someone make guns come out of a hat, and then proceed to show great marksmanship; I'm impressed. [ but not wholly surprised. magic, magic, magic... ]
[ sup Mami. sdfgh dat curtsy has him bowing at the waist before he can stop himself--!
straightening up, he nods. ] I see. There was... magic, of some sort, in my world as well- and it was different for each person who had it, so I can believe that. [ not that he doubted it, because Mami is a good girl, he thinks. ]
Were you training? [ gesturing to the obstacle course she had set up before she topped demolished shot it up, of course. ]
[Polka didn't mean to see what she had saw, but there was no point denying it. She saw someone - obviously with magical powers like herself - doing some pretty amazing things. She stood stunned for a bit before talking]
H-how did you do that? [She didn't know of any other magic than the magic from her world.] I-it was amazing
[ Sure, back before Madoka left Homura had more of a clear goal, a clear purpose - to protect Madoka at all costs, no matter what this place would throw at them. It could hardly be worse than Walpurgis Night, after all. But now Madoka has been gone for a while.. All she could do in this place was try to gain more strength in any way so she could be prepared for the battle against Walpurigs Night back home. She'd have to do it on her own, after all, considering even her potential partner in the battle, Kyouko, had kicked the bucket.
And so Homura is out for training as well. But before she can even transform, she hears familiar sounds and it doesn't take long for her to trace the source. And the source is rather familiar as well.
She doesn't speak up yet though, not yet. Instead she watches from a distance, her expression hard to read considering it's just her usual pokerface. ]
[ she's beginning to get a feeling that she's being watched... and doesn't like it. once she's put a good dent in the second barrel, she turns to shoot a bullet at where she can feel a gaze burning into the back of her head.
it's meant to be a joke, so it whizzes by her head by a hair. and lookie look, it's Ms. Pokerface. ]
If you wanted to watch, all you had to do was ask.
[ Well, if that bullet would have been aimed even a slight bit more into her head's direction, she obviously could just have frozen time or something - but instead the bullet just flies past her head, not a single part of her expression changing at it. ]
I didn't know this was the way you always greet your guests, Tomoe Mami.
[ A beat. ] I didn't come here to watch either way. This was merely coincidence.

So I wasn't alone after all.

What was that you did just now?

I could answer your question in a few ways. To be vague about it, I was training. But i'm sure that isn't a sufficient answer for you.

Oh? That certainly sounds troublesome. Would you like me to help you keep lookout?

I'd expect so. Magic is unique to the user, so my powers aren't shared by any other Puella Magi. Thank you for your kind words. [ a curtsy. ]

Y-your magic must be really powerful [she didn't want to say what she was thinking. After all, maybe in this girl's world, magic didn't mean death]
