[ it had been several months since Mami had arrived in Somarium and she had really began to get used to a world without witches. the burden- I mean, responsibility of fighting was suddenly lifted off her shoulders when she woke up here, and she's been trying to live her life to the fullest. here, she could live for once.
but, the fact that something dangerous might show up was always there. as a Puella Magi, you have to be ready for anything. Mami hadn't used her magic once since waking up in Somarium, and the recent arrival of Homura had reminded her of that. she needed to train to keep her senses sharp. Soul Gems didn't darken here, so there was no danger of wasted magic.
so that's why she's here, in the Industrial District of Somni. as far as she's aware, there's no one else around. she's thankful for that; there's no need to attract attention to herself.
she's set up a bit of an obstacle course for herself, consisting of empty oil barrels and crates. a few of the barrels have targets painted on them.
the ring on her finger morphs into her soul gem, and she transforms. if you're watching, you'll see quite the sight. she removes her hat, and several muskets seem to drop out of it and lodge into the ground in front of her.
she approaches a barrel and kicks it high into the air. taking gun after gun, she begins to shoot. when it hits the ground again, it looks similar to a crunched up soda can.
at that, she smiles and moves on to the next barrel. she's still got some ammo left. ]
