we found out last night at eight. i worked all night long. and i've been listening to his speeches all morning. yes we can.

So, I was reading some of my old LiveJournal posts, looking for a memory that I had tucked away in there, and I have come to realize that my life was a lot more exciting back then. Or at least, my ability to write about my life was a lot more exciting. When is the last time I was entertaining? These days I've been all grump and no anecdote.

At this point in time I am unsure about the length of this post. There has been an upwelling of personal hopes and fears over the last 12 months of my current blip in the time line of post-collegiate life that I may or may not be able to express. My jaw and molars hurt, my neck and upper back was stiff, and the culprit grin was still on my face as I arrived at work. It was an unsettling grin, a mix of exhilaration and tension. I was there at 1201 early Firday morning to be among the first on the West Coast to view Chris Nolan's latest, visionary interpretation of Bob Kane's masterpiece. It was an absolute mindfuck.

Nas is one of the greatest lyricists of our time. He has also caused me to doubt how far along this country has come in healing our national wounds. Sarah and I went to one of those new test market Jack In the Boxes last night to pick up some fast food. Boy was it fast, and near humanless. You ordered the food yourself on a touch panel, giant, flat screen monitor. Our 'to-go' order was brought out to us by the manager, who wished us a good night.
