01. What is actually solo20in20?
This is a place for everyone's "favorite thing"♥. Be it an entire series, mangaka, video game, a character -- you can claim them here! The only catch is that you may only feature ONE character in your icons (body parts of someone else will still be allowed, but your subject must be the focus. More on this can be found here).
Another thing you might want to know:
Every round's themes will be based on stories / fairytales / mythologies. This doesn't make the challenge any harder, nor does it change anything. Just consider it something fun (troublesome) the mod wants to do. ;)
If you're curious how this will play out, I'll give you a brief example:
Round X, Theme X (let's say it's based on Cinderella): "Crystal pumps"; your icon must feature a foot cropping. Thighs and waist shots are allowed.
...you get the idea. Basically we'll pick a story, base a round on it, use its elements and quotes, transferring them into different themes. Sounds fun, no?
And don't you worry about the themes! We'll try to be succinct and thorough with the explanation.
02. How many subjects can I claim at a time?
Only ONE. See rules for more info. This also means no sock accounts for multiple claims purpose, or cheating the voting for that matter.
03. Someone preempts my subject! Can I still claim it?
Highly unlikely, I daresay. I'm sorry, but no. This community is pretty flexible (you can claim an entire series, franchise or a single character, as already stated above), so I doubt this will happen. Should this happen, please consider claiming another subject.
04. How does the schedule roll?
Themes will be posted at least 3~5 days after the sign-up is closed. A round will run for 20 days, which is then followed by voting. Once the winners are announced, a sign-up for the next round will be up in approximately 24~48 hours.
Please bear with us if there's a slight delay in posting; mods might be busy with RL stuff.
05. Can I use fanarts? I have the artist's permission!
No. To avoid future drama and conflicts, the answer to this question will always remain no.
06. Do all my icons have to feature a single person?
Yes, unless themes dictate otherwise (i.e. OTP/group theme). Besides, that's what solo is about, right?
07. Are animated icons allowed?
Yep. I don't see why not.
08. Can I change my claim? Any deadline for this?
Yes. As long as the current round's themes haven't been posted, you're still allowed to change your claim -- just PM the mod right away. You cannot, however, change your claim right after the themes are posted -- it will lead to suspicion that you change your claim because it doesn't fit or won't work with the themes. Which means cheating in a way.
Rules are subjective to changes at the discretion of maintainers.
