News from the parenting (?) front

So, after two days and a bit of having a teenager staying with us, what do I have to report?

Well, apart from the fact that I hang out in... uh... the part of life that isn't in a computer (k_julia told me I was BAD when I called it 'meatspace', so I won't) for far more hours in a day than I am used to or like, it's actually not so bad.

Two days down... )

i need alone time like whoa, note to self, this is my life, links

We also had coffee at the Elephant House (of Harry Potter fame, he wanted to see it)

I suck as a fan. I will have to google this, OMG!

I... hadn't quite considered Sleeping Beauty from that angle. Thanks for the link. :-)

I've known the Elephant House forever, they do some of the best coffee in Edinburgh (and did it well before other places gave you anything half decent). But I wasn't aware of the Rowling connection, either, until G pointed it out. Well, once you're inside there's also a leaflet...

Everybody in there was photographing each other so I guess that awareness is pretty high. :-)

Sounds like he's not a bad kind of teenager to have around - at least you didn't get one of the sulky ones who doesn't want to look around museums!

But yes, the forced removal from online life is always a chore.

Yeah, the museum was even his idea. Though he skipped by the medieval section quite fast and really only got interested once there was steam. Oh well. We can't all be perfect. ;-)

And we watched another 6 eps of X last night. At this rate, we'll manage to get through them all before he has to leave.

Sounds like a good kind of teenager to have around! :-) And that's a really good idea with the audio guides.

(Wah! Imageshack has taken down the cuteness!* Did you get a look at it in time Or should I reupload?)

*So I might have been keeping it in an open tab to look at from time to time, yeah. Want to make something of it?**

** Now that I think about it, that's pretty fannish, isn't it? Heh. :-)

Yes, that rates reasonably well on the Scales of Fannishness. I am suitably impressed.

I did see it, just had no time to comment yet. Thank you for the link. :-) In case Imageshack ate it to the extent that you don't have a copy any more, click the thumbnail for the original size version. :-)

Thank you! :-) I did have a copy (that's the first thing I do when I find cuteness of a Junno variety *g* - an Jin looks really cute here as well!), but this way I could look at it a little at work, too.

Yes, that rates reasonably well on the Scales of Fannishness. I am suitably impressed.

Also, I stare at my lovely purple Junno mug a lot when I drink green tea. I am fairly racking up the points.

I'm glad to hear things are going okay.

He seems like the ideal teenager to have around.

Enjoy!
