Flicker had agreed quickly (after a quick check on Ni'ci) to searching for Rosa. He felt a bit guilty that he had let the newcomer wander off like that. No matter that he had had his hands full with Ghost and the rest. He still felt responsible.

Zee's request made him curious as to just what the handsome young man could do. So like a boy who just has to poke the snake, Sam edged closer to Zee. He was surprised to run into a sudden feeling of dread and reluctance. But when he took one step away, he felt an inexplicable urge to get closer to the man again. Zee was rather fascinating and attractive after all...

Sam stepped back inside the avoidance effect. Deep in the back of his mind Kitty murred with pure contentment. This time the emotion was not as strong and Sam found himself wanting to keep as close as he could to Zee. He gravitated into a comfortable equilibrium where the effects balanced themselves out. Sam fell into a disturbed silence.

For cripe's sake! Flicker was appalled at himself. Sure, Zee is good-looking, downright ( ... )

Richie wasn't sure how long he'd been crouched at the base of what had once been an apartment complex, recently reduced to a pile of rubble. So recent in fact that he still saw dust rising upon his initial approach ( ... )

The walk had been interesting, feeling the dual set of emotions from Flicker and whatever his companion was. Poor Flicker seemed confused and embarrassed mostly, the suit seemed intrigued and happy, and Zee was impressed that the hero could stand within his aura at all, even if it was only a foot inside the circle. He would have to ask him about it at some point ( ... )

"You helping to find Rosa, Pritz?" His sctitching slowed to a stop as Richie tossed the journal to Zee.

"Oh." He looked at Zee hurrying to give Richie a hug. "No, it can't be." That tug he had felt towrd Zee grew even stronger and he wanted to be in that hug as well, to soak in the comfort the man was giving out. Sam just couldn't give in to that, though. Not now.

"Rosa. It's not fair. This place just is not fair." Sam gave an inattentive pat to Pritz's head. Then he stopped thinking at all. Despite the pull toward Zee, Sam turned instead to the building and walked into the rubble with a deep breath.

Maybe he could find her. Maybe she really wasn't dead, just unconscious. Maybe he could still be her hero.

The silence was deafening.

The aura was calming, if not just the tiniest bit disconcerting the way it happened without any visible sign as to why, but it wasn't enough to completely calm his troubled mind. As such, he took notice when Flicker began mumbling and heading for the collapsed building.

Quickly he pulled away from Zee and made quick steps to Flicker's side, grabbing his arm with a tug in order to stop him from continuing forward. He shook his head slowly, sadly at the man.

"Its not worth losing some one else."
