The badge meant little to Hotaru, the language written on it one she wasn't familiar with, but the man did seem the sort to be a doctor. A medical ninja of some sort? "No need. That will do. The others can demand more or not as they choose."

Feeling Hotori's presence, Hotaru looked past the doctor and smiled. "I was wondering if you'd wake up soon. I just thought I would check on the newest arrival here." Pausing, she directed her attention back at the stranger. "I must admit I am curious about why people are brought here and when and most importantly, by whom. I don't suppose you know anything, doctor?"

She moved past him faster than a blink of the eye to stand next to Hotori. "Either way, where you go is up to you. There are at least two distinct groups of people here and I know little of either. Perhaps they have need of a doctor."

Sam stepped to one side, further into the shadowed area, and in a direction that didn't leave him sandwiched between the two. "Your guess is as good as mine," he said with a slight shrug as he tucked the card away again. "Last I knew I was on my way to work."

"I'd be glad to help anyone that needs it, but I'm afraid I'd have to get oriented first," he glanced between them. "Most of all, I'd like to get home to my wife."

Hotori glanced at Hotaru. Both of them (or at least he knew,) that something of that nature was a rare possibility. Considering the way they'd come here, and been unable to find some rhyme or reason for getting away...

His eyebrows rose, mouth in a soft line and denoting his minute shrug as he slipped his hand over Hotaru's, their luck at being here together brought to mind.

"The base or library," he said, a surprising amount of words for a stranger's benefit. Those two places seemed the best points to search, if one was looking.

Hotaru giggled and grinned at the doctor. "He's suggesting you start at those places if you're searching for someone. I don't know if you'd be more lucky if your wife was here or not. This is a dangerous place if you aren't careful. Besides, I was warned that the chances of meeting someone you know is slim."

She kissed Hotori cheerfully before continuing. "But not impossible. I wish you luck, little doctor. And if you truly need help, use your 'journal' and call for Hotaru and I might come. If I'm in a good mood."

She turned away from him with a small wave, wandering slowly away towards other parts of the hospital.

With my luck, not bloody likely..., he thought to himself, but put on a smile for the couple. "Thank you for your help. I'll see if anyone's seen her," he said as they left.

When they were gone, he sighed. Now to find these places without a guide or map. Maybe if he looked from the roof after nightfall. His natural eyes could take care of the rest. For the moment, he would see if he could locate any viable pints of blood in this carcass of a hospital.

He ran his hand over his wedding ring. He'd get back to her. It's not like they didn't have eternity.
