They had landed, but it wasn't until Ana let her head roll up some to see the red horizon that she came to realize that. In the distance she could still see the light, wispy smoke trails from outside the library, the fire amazingly having gone undisturbed in the fray.

She wanted that sight to give her hope, but instead it just made fear sit ill in her belly, wondering a million, trillion times over if Hex was okay, if he knew, and what he was going to do when he found out.

Would he be convinced by the others... not to come and get her?

Ill turned to tight, cramping fear, fear that brought a tremble up from her thighs and all the way to her shoulders.

Idly, she recognized Ares' voice, the lilting manner of speaking, and turned her darkened gaze towards her. She wanted to speak to her, to say something, ANYTHING, but her lips could only produce noise and nothing else.

Well, this new lady, Ares, certainly seemed much more civilized than Mara had expected. In fact, there was a certain familiar air about her... She sniffed the air, smelling the pheromones, though their effect on her was little different than her normal state, and smiled. Interesting trait and she also felt mildly demonic ( ... )

Ares' jaw tightened at the unasked but plain question of what she was. Of course, if this Mara did not know her father's name than she certainly wouldn't know the black mark associated with it. The mention of a 'Demonic Army' was interesting; to Ares' knowledge a unified demonic force had not existed for several centuries, not since the last war with Heaven ( ... )

Working on the second of the two new rats, Leirian absently wondered whether ghost and Niji had been able to find anything useful for keeping the meat for longer than a day. If they had, they should preserve as much of this kill as was safe to.

He was getting a little bored of being by himself, so he started absently humming to fill the silence, still very watchful for either the others' return, or the appearance of savagers to this feast.

Niji cast a wary eye around as she strode over to Kororen with a pot full of knives, bowls, a smaller pan with a cover, the spices and the tea leaves. She was not exactly happy to see that Psyche had returned and was not alone.

Handing the pot to Kororen, she nodded to the rooftop. "I see we have company. Is Psyche-san causing more trouble?"
