Wondering

Sometimes when I'm in my room, I get incredibly depressed. I noticed that it tends to be at its worse (since I suffer from depression anyway) when I'm there, so... I have a question ( Read more... )

I have read you take a small jar of salt and walk through that space making sure you get into every nook and cranny and allow the salt to absorb the negative energies in the room. After you are to close the jar and take it to a steam to pour out all the salt and the negative vibes it picked up.

I usually leave my obsidian stone out on my desk or in a central region of the room (Or at the door to grab the negative feelings coming in off people). That is of course after I ask of it to part take in it's purpose. Most of my stones sit charged up and ready for use in their box until I need them and then I ask them to give or lend me their power.

I guess I should ask some questions first. Is it a certain part of your room that makes you down, as in the color or the layout of the room?

Your room is your haven of safety. For me, I have filled it with colors that brighten my temperment, have music always cued for when I come in, and do not allow negative impact conversations to place within my space.

I also have amethyst around in places I know may upset me, such as at my computer desk as I am usually fighting with that machine LOL

My advice would be to locate a central source to your depression, and make changes to that area to bring it more in line with your positive thoughts.

Let me ask you a somewhat different question:

What other steps are you currently undertaking to treat your depression, aside from having made this post?

Options/questions to consider:

How much natural light does your room recieve each day, and is it direct or indirect?

What are the predominant colors in your room?

What sort of activities take place in your room other than sleeping?

I totally agree with the questions above. I would have asked the same thing. If your room is dark and closed off it's not going to fill you with energy. Lethargia is a good way to get yourself down.

i've made an appointment to meet with the school counselor and i'm looking for people to talk to over the summer.

i live in a dorm, so we can't paint the room or anything. i think, overall, my room is pretty bland o.o'' i dont have tapestries or any sort of thing up. i mostly do my hw or sleep in there. sometimes i socialize, but i prefer to go to other people's rooms or different parts on campus.

there arent any predominate colors in my room.

I understand what it's like to be "stuck" in a place where you really don't have a whole lot of freedom to alter the appearance or layout of the room. Since I'm a single soldier, I live in the barracks, which is like the dorms (only a little more substandard kind of living.) I cannot paint my room either, so I've bought things to hang on the wall to give it a more personized feel. I like the asian culture so my walls are covered with wall scrolls of paintings of the Chinese mountains, I have Japanese kanji of such symbols as love and strength, a giant fan, and a parasol. Even my bed set matches the theme with the black and red. I was able to re-arrange what little furniture was issued to me in a way i felt i was able to have the most space and function in my room. Oh and something as simple as a plant can help. It may not purr or bark, but you can talk to the spirit and take care of it like a delicate child. i have an exotic orchid that I've named and I talk to her on a daily basis. I know it's not much, but sometimes even ( ... )

Yes it does make sense.

My first suggestion would be to physically clean and organize your room (I find it much easier to cleanse and sheild/ward a room when it is physically clean - plus your energy you used to clean is also focused on your goal of cleansing the room of negativity).

Second I would cleanse the room in some way (this can be through smudging, or other means). Since I cannot use smoke in my apartment (sensitive lungs and appartment rules) I often phyically clean the room than make a cleansing spray (water; charged sea salt -not much salt water is a pain to get out- ; herbal oils - sage, sweetgrass, ceder, etc), and either use it or if it is close to the full moon I will charge it under her light.

I also tend to set up spell bottles/bags of sea salt (and other ingrediants) as sinks for negativity drawing it away from my the rest of the living quarters.

Oh before I forget- Make sure you cleanse any large mirrors- particularly if they are in your bedroom (you would be amazed at what energies they can collect).
