Does anybody know who wrote the poem behind the cut? And/or what it's titled? I can't remember if I found it in a book or online...most likely online. I just copied it down and stupidly forgot to make note of who wrote it...

It's from The Poetic Edda, which is thought to have been written down about 1200 CE, but almost certainly predates that date by a significant margin as an oral tradition.

Can't tell you who produced this translation, the original is in Old Norse.

It's from Old Norse -- The Poetic Edda (ca AD1200).

Googling the first verse would have told you that. :)

the Havamal. It appeared in the Codex Regius about 1200 years ago. I don't know who did the translations or how far back it goes.
