So, Michelle Obama brought Laura Bush a gift.

The media tells the public that Laura tucks it under her arm as she walks inside.

Where ANYONE can see that Laura handed it off to the nearest guard when she walked inside...while on camera.

I mean...come on. I know that there's something to be said, but...security? never. Dude...and on camera, too.

Its probably protocol, and after 8 years it could just be an auto pilot response sorta like driving to work on your day off when your driving to a store near there.

I don't argue that point. I'd probably do the same. But someone should smack the media buffoon who felt the need to lie about what she was doing on live TV.

Agreed.

Being on base for as long as I was taught me about protocol for bringing gifts/etc/whatnot to your commanders. But seriously...

Did anyone hear about the poor woman injured by the METRO in DC on the way to inauguration?

Considering the number of places to go/hands to shake/babies to kiss going on, it was probably safer in that man's hands. Those staff members are trained on where things go.
