How Can I Not Love You?
Though Jiro didn’t always believe her, Yuri didn’t mind that much when he went off with their sons on their annual hunt. She knew that the bonds between a father and his sons needed to be strong, so she encouraged these excursions and found ways to occupy herself while she waited patiently for his return.
Being apart from your mate was never easy, but it made their return an all the more joyous occasion; so when Jiro sent her a message saying he and the boys would be back in a the evening, Yuri set about preparing for his arrival: lighting candles and sprinkling rose petals over the bed to provide the perfect romantic atmosphere, knowing that the first thing they would both want when he came back would be each other. That’s how it always worked.
Of course…her carefully planned seduction pretty much went to hell when she caught a whiff of his familiar, masculine scent and, unable to contain her happiness at his return, promptly leaped into his arms the second he came in the door.
Jiro caught her, uttering a quiet grunt in surprise, and before he could even say “hello”, he found his mouth very occupied by Yuri’s insistent kiss.
A low, pleased growl escaped the wolf as he pulled his mate closer, instincts taking over as he ravaged her mouth with his. Tongues met and dueled while hands began to wander, and then, very slowly, Jiro pulled back and nuzzled affectionately at his wife. “I take it that you missed me?”
Yuri giggled and nuzzled back. “I always do…you know that.”
He trailed his hands over her back, sighing softly. “The feeling’s mutual my love…” he kissed her again, purposely sliding the strap of her silk nightgown off her shoulder to gain more access to her soft, lily-colored skin, dipping his head in the next instant in order to rain kisses along her throat and shoulders. “God, it seems like forever since I’ve been able to touch you…”
She gasped at the attention, holding onto him tightly as he began to carry her back to their bedroom. “It hasn’t been that long.”
“Trust me…just a few hours away from you and I pretty much go insane,” he murmured, gently reclining her back on the bed before settling on top of her.
She nipped playfully at his lips while her fingers busied themselves with getting him out of his clothes. “Well…I can understand that.” She pushed the black satin shirt she’d unbuttoned down his shoulders and smiled when he tugged his arms free in order to help her. Framing his face between her hands, she kissed him again. “And trust me when I say: you’re not the only one.”
He chuckled, his fingers lacing into her hair as he deepened the kiss, arching his hips as she made quick work of his leather pants before tugging his hands away in order to grip at the hem of her nightgown.
She lifted her arms to assist him this time and it was only a matter of seconds before she was as naked as he was, and he gathered her into his arms for yet another fervent kiss.
The welcome press of Jiro’s leanly muscled body against hers made Yuri draw in a shuddering breath, pulling back as he focused his attentions on worshipping every inch of her skin, even the barest, most fleeting brush of his fingers sending waves of desire coursing through her. She ran her hands over his chest, the heat of his skin warm and soothing against her palms, moving down to caress at the tone of his abdomen as he drove her crazier with each kiss and touch.
The time apart made it difficult to retain control and he joined with her much quicker than he would have usually, both of them crying out at the all-too-pleasant sensation of being one with each other.
Their eyes met, a brilliant, deep gold that signified their want for each other, Jiro’s blue and red Wolfen markings surfacing on his skin at the same time as Yuri’s white and gold ones. Resting his forehead against hers, he nipped and bit at her mouth, instigating a breathtaking kiss as he began to move.
From that moment, Yuri was lost, trapped within the sensations that Jiro instilled in her. It never ceased to amaze her how perfectly they fit together, like he’d been created solely for her. He was hers as much as she was his, and they both could never get enough.
Her hands fisted in his constantly tousled hair, the feel of it like silk between her fingers, meeting his movements with ones of her own as they gained an almost instant symmetry. Instinct took over. Attentions became less gentle as the primal need to mate took control, and bites and scratches were bestowed as often as kisses but what mattered the most was their love for each other, and Yuri was more than aware of Jiro’s as he carried them both to bliss.
It was many hours later when they finally stopped long enough to rest, Yuri lying comfortably in Jiro’s arms, their bodies still a tangle with each other and the sheets of their bed. She sighed happily and twisted further into his embrace, her leg slinging over his waist beneath the covers as she traced little figures over his bare chest.
He smiled as his wife cuddled closer, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “I’m glad I’m home,” he whispered. “I don’t like leaving you alone without me, even if it’s only for a few days.”
She toyed with the fang that dangled around his neck, dropping a sweet kiss to it before shifting so she could brush some errant strands of dark hair back from his eyes. “I know. I don’t like you leaving me alone either.”
He just tugged her closer, a loving expression on those strikingly handsome features that she adored. “You could…always come with me,”
Yuri immediately shook her head at the suggestion. “No. It’s a male bonding thing and I wouldn’t want to get in the way.”
Jiro laughed softly. “You wouldn’t be in the way…you’d be with me,” he pushed her tangled dark hair back over her shoulder.
Smiling, she placed a hand over his heart. “I’m always with you…in here,” she stroked over his lightly tanned skin and leaned down to capture his mouth with hers. “And you’re always in mine.”
His heart started to thunder at her words and in a swift moment, he had her pinned against the pillows, a delighted squeal escaping Yuri in the process.
“Now, when you say something like that, how could I not love a woman as amazing and wonderful as you are?” he murmured before kissing her tenderly.
Yuri just smirked. “I’m not sure…how could I not love the world’s most perfect man?”
Jiro chuckled. “Let’s hope we never find out the answer to those questions.”
And, when he kissed her yet again, Yuri knew that she couldn’t agree with him more.
