Shisui: A Guidebook for the Newly Dead is over at bitter_nakano but today I decided to write a missing scene that's always been in my head, but it didn't want to fit with the ending. Switches to Itachi's pov.

Um, no, my version of the scene would go like this:

Mikoto entered the room and laid eyes on what appeared to be her son and cousin wrapped around each other, bereft of clothing.

She eyed them quietly for a minute, then burst into tears.

"I'll draw up the place settings!" she cried. "And Itachi--you'll look divine in your grandmother's wedding dress! We're going to have to get you a haircut, Shisui--"

And she hightailed it out of the room, trailing smoke and something about Sasuke and catching the bouquet.

i have one more fic in the works almost done, which sneakily throws in shisui's crush on mikoto (which is clearly canon now, obvi. >_>) also it is borderline PWP.

also apparently mai has MADARA/TSUNADE she is holding out on us with. it needs to be fooouunnnnd.

Just one question: how old are Sasuke and Sakura here? IIRC, prior to training with Tsunade, Sakura was much more of a genjutsu girl than a medic-nin. She was also completely smitten with Sasuke, so I doubt she would have been this bold.

Uh, this is shameless massacring of young Sakura, basically. she has a lot of guts even as a girl, but yes, i doubt she would've done this either. i suck.

I like the switch to Itachi's POV. It's a good contrast, and while Shisui has enough energy to snark, his narration would be a bit incoherent.

Hate to say, but I agree with ronsard about Sakura knowing anything about medicine as a kid. Also, if this is when Sasuke is little, what in the world is he doing hanging out with either her or Naruto?
... I like it, it just threw me for a bit.

yeah no, it's... out of character. the only paltry excuse i have besides wanting to throw them in there, (and wanting Sakura to have balls) was that this is my AU-universe from Guidebook where there is no Shisui-dying and no Uchiha-clan murdering and Sasuke & Co. are friends when they're little. ( i actually did write the same scene from Shisui's pov, and as you have surmised, it's really incoherent and makes no sense without Itachi's. I didn't post it because, ya know, even for being obsessive that's a little much and I felt like a wacko. ._.)
