The orphanage my church supports in Port-au-Prince was destroyed. From what I can tell, everyone survived, but two of the girls were hurt pretty badly. Obviously, medical and charity workers are going to be overwhelmed for a while. NBC came out and did a news segment on the church today, and we'll be doing a special collection this week to help ( Read more... ) -

Back! Only took 7 hours to make the drive today. Way behind on LJ and Facebook from the weekend. I'll try to catch up in the next few days, but I expect work to be busy and I've still got one paper and a final to do this week so it might take a while. Thanks to everyone who posted puppies and such last night! -

I swear my trip here has been mostly good, but traveling has been more aggravating than anything I've ever experienced. It took me almost 11 hours to get here on Wednesday. Today I drove for four hours and only made it a hundred miles, and then learned traffic would continue to be bumper-to-bumper all the way to LA...so I'd be looking at a 16- ( Read more... ) -
