"Well NORMALLY Miakis would just look at the guards and do some thing with her eyes and they'd open it before I even got out of bed but... I have to make due with what I have here."

Pokey's at the Rec Center more or less to see what little supplies/items he can steal from them, in part because he's simply bored and in part because having anything might eventually be useful if it comes times to make or repair something. He was just about to leave, to, when he notices Lym. Which still shouldn't be a problem. He barely knows you.
