1. Detroit 1-8-7 is surprisingly really good! If you were a fan of Homicide: Life on the Street, I highly recommend this. With the way it portrays characters and dialogue and the overall tone, it's really giving me a H:LotS vibe that I'm loving. I may have to vid it ( Read more... )

While it's sad that Seeker was canceled, I think Bridget Regan would make an awesome wonder woman.

My Generation was REALLY sweet. I liked it a lot and am pretty bummed it was canceled so soon. You can't really tell much in two episodes, you know?

She would indeed!

I think 2 episodes might be a new record. ABC has out-Foxed Fox.

Right? It's ridiculous.

I'd say that even though it was canceled I'm very glad I watched those two episodes. There were flaws but I really loved the spirit of it.

Detroit 1-8-7, you say?

*adds to list*

because I really need yet another show. With cops. It's all cops all the time on my TV. Which is hilarious, as M is terrified of cops.

I've been holding out to see if The Event is worth flailing over - it seems potentially cool, but also potentially like that expensive, "big deal", "cannot fail" show that crashes and burns every year? And I don't want to get all invested if it'll be dumb then gone in six eps?

I must admit, I'm reaching my fill of cop & lawyer shows, but Detroit 1-8-7 is probably the best of the new batch. I tried Blue Bloods and was pretty meh about that one. Detroit 1-8-7 all the way. They even have a white board that looks exactly the HLotS board, and a black guy who speaks Italian. It's like D187 is a big ol' HLotS fanboy. Oh! And one of the main partnerships reminds me a lot of Pembleton & Bayliss. Crotchety antisocial loner with the best closure record gets stuck with green idealistic rookie who just wants to prove himself. Bonding ensues!

The Event...is like a Big Deal about nothing. It has potential, and I like a couple characters a lot, but so far not much happens. Even though the show would like us to think Major Things Are Happening. I have a feeling it'll get cancelled if the plot doesn't pick up soon. It's like the exact opposite of TVD, which is all plot plot plot.

I'm watching Detroit 1-8-7, too. Fitch is awesome. I love that character.

What half-way annoys me about The Event is the constant jumping around in timelines. There's no five minutes of plot before we - again - jump backward in time, and if only to see that useless scene of how boyfriend and girlfriend originally met. The only thing interesting about that part was that he is obviously a very good swimmer, which explains why he just jumped into the ocean to "save" the girl.

Fitch is indeed awesome! I pretty much love all the detectives so far. I hope more people are watching this because it's a great show and needs to not get cancelled.

Re:The Event. Exactly. It's a lot of time-jumping just for the sake of time-jumping. It doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose.
