1. Roasted turkey breast, sprouts, cucumber, and cream cheese on croissant.

2. Homemade chicken and dumplings - southern comfort food at its finest, and something I don't get nearly as often as I'd like.

3. Baked sweet potatoes with a touch of honey. Healthy, but so, SO dessert-like and amazing.

4. Strawberry short-cake; a nostalgic treat, as it used to be my family's traditional birthday dessert (mine is in May, which is perfect timing for really good berries in the Carolinas).

5. Eggnog. I am PASSIONATE about the stuff, with or without alcohol; even better, eggnong-flavored milkshakes from Coldstone Creamery or Cook-Out (A southern fast-food drive-through chain I'm very fond of.)

3. Baked sweet potatoes are like dessert.

I make one that has brown sugar, coconut, pecans and its called Praline Yams. Total dessert if you ask me. Yum.

4. Strawberry short cake, double yum.

I was born with no sense of smell and very little in the way of tastebuds, so if a food doesn't have a very strong flavor chances are I won't be able to taste it at all. On a really bad day I can't even taste ALTOIDS. I've never been sure what caused it.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm just going to ogle your icon. Forever.

I'm sorry about your sense of smell and taste, that must be awful for you.

I just thought of another food that I have got to add to my list. I am off to edit in a sec.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm just going to ogle your icon. Forever.

My icon has that effect on me too. I think it would actually be the perfect icon for the comm, cunnilingusfic, because when I see that shiny chin and swollen lips, that is exactly what I think of. TMI-I know, but it is *my* journal. LOL

Don't you have a foodgasm list?

Katie's from the south, so hers was all about the BBQ.

I made my #1 for dinner tonight and then after adding #6 improvised and just had toaster waffles with real butter and syrup for dessert. I told my hubby I really just wanted the syrup and I could have probably skipped the waffle and pulled a Super Troopers, *the syrup guzzling scene*. LOL

Perfect icon for commenting on foodgasm meme even if you are too lazy to do it.

Yeah, we had #2 for dinner last night, #1 for dinner tonight, and tomorrow we'll have the rest of #1 along with #3. Holy crap, I sound like I'm ordering food from the drive thru window, only it is good food. :)

It's so interesting to see the themes that people stick to! There are certain ways we like things, and we kinda follow that for all of our choices!

I had a theme? What was it?

I know yours was BBQ, but what was mine?

Yours was homemade & fresh. You can tell how important those are to you!

Oh, all except the number 6 I added later.

The best waffles ever. OMG, definite foodgasm and I shouldn't eat it at all cause of my blood sugar, but GUH. I'd eat that, then immediately eat a 30 gram protein/0 carb bar so I wouldn't have a blood sugar crash. But baby, those waffles were worth it.

Oh god, I'm so hungry looking at this list and peoples' comments, I'm glad I have a pizza in the oven!

1. Appetizers and hors d'oevres--like Thai crispy spring rolls with rice vinegar for dipping.

2. My mom's homemade spaghetti sauce and garlic bread

3. sushi train--they mix it up and put all sorts of cool things in the rolls, like pickles

I love spring rolls. I get them from Schwan's, and make them at home *basically heat them up*, but oooh crispy and vegie goodness, and I've never tried rice vinegar for dipping, but I may have to give that a go. I always use some hot mustard and soy sauce.

My hubby does not like asian food, at all. And half the restaurants that aren't fast food in our little town are asian, so I never go out for it. That's why I get it when the Schwan's guy delivers.

Homemade spaghetti and garlic bread. Damn. Now I'm hungry too, and I got nothin' here at work but my half drunk cup of coffee that I have already microwaved once and a frozen dinner. Ugh. That sounds awful. I had to leave home so early this morning for an 8 am dental cleaning and I had an hour drive to get there, I didn't even think about food today. Crap.

I was totally wrong--it's not rice vinegar (I had some and smelled it) but I really can't figure out what they use as dipping sauce! It's vinegar-like.
