That's what I could really go for right now. Trying to kick caffiene is a biitch.

I've basically been relying on the life-giving chemical to function for the past year and a half or so. I kind of need it. There was a time during the school year when I was averaging about 4 hours of sleep per night. That was the "Master-Harold-Performances/Charley' ( Read more... )

What you have my friend, may be a Caffeine Addiction. Now that you are going "cold turkey," your body may respond to excessive sleepiness, migraines, loss of energy, flu-like symptoms, etc. Check with your doctor if your problems exceed.

If you want to regain your energy, make sure you eat five meals a day, breakfast being your largest. Because your are an active 17 year old male, you should obtain 2,800 calories.

Also, if you want an energy boost, try 100% Organic Herbal Tea, as well there is a new product known as Teecinno Caffeine-Free Herbal Coffee.

Good luck and take heed

SLEEP! Yay! unfortunately, I've found that the more I sleep, the more tired I seem. I hate getting up in the morning -- it's physically painful to me. And I don't like coffee -- it makes me jittery. Unfortunately, I love Coca Cola which has loads of caf and which I've been avoiding lately.

I've tried to fight my lethargic tendacies with evening exercise. You might try a bit of fast walking or running (if you can stand it); something to get your blood pumping. Great music is the only thing that keeps me doing that, so I'd also recommend investing in an MP3 player.

In my personal, medical oppinion... threalbilllogan August 5 2005, 15:36:23 UTC
...which happens to be a first aid merit badge I got one summer at boyscout camp...

You could try to wean yourself off in a multi-step program of some kind. I've actually got about 5 cans left of a 12 pack of DP at the Pet Resort if you need some.

BUT the only problem with that is that it could respark your active addiction, even though I'm pretty sure that you'd be alright, since you have been thus far. A cold turkey caffeene break shows quite a bit of will power.

Kudos with props, my friend.
