shallow. yes thats a good way of putting it.

how many of us went out and helped look for that poor little girl?
how many of us cared? we care now that she is dead?
your support does nothing now, you can't bring her back.
how many of us saw her missing posters on the subway or gotrains? I know I did. And i know I looked at it and thought, wow thats sad. And thats passive of me, because if i cared I would have offered to help. I would have donated money. I would have done something other than say its sad.

X's and C's are only letters
no govermnet legislation can bring her back or prevent what happened to her from happening to anyone else
no letters to her parents will help

lets stop pretending we care. we live hedonistic lives, we are wrapped up in ourselves, suddenly a shocking piece of news is heard and suddenly everyone is a humanitarian? I think not.

Basically people have been getting this message on MSN that they should put an X or a C at the front of their MSN name to show their support for those missing kids.

In fact, homosexuality wasn't even the issue at hand; it was a metaphor. It's the reason I won't apologize, strictly because, well... no one bothered to read to into it.

it wasn't a good metaphor if you were the only one who recognized what it was at first. and even someone studying analytical thinking might not have been able to figure it out.

ps: you could have atleast picked a hot model

and another thing, you're not allowed having porn on your journal unless it's friends only; it says in the tos
you should fix it before it's reported and your journal is suspended

That was sort of what I was thinking as well. Perhaps the words in the phone number are considered pornographic in nature.

agreed. but you already knew that. there are much better ways to show support and compassion for ANY cause than wearing a pin or tacking a dumb letter of the alphabet onto our names - WHEN THE ISSUE DESERVES IT.
