I totally know people like that. They go 'ZOMG, SUBTITLES?! You mean I have to READ my MOVIE?! NOT FAIR!' It's so, so weird.

Seriously. These people would never survive if they became deaf and had to read captions on their TV, I guess.

Really.

If my brain was more organized, I'd be tempted to write a post about reading, and trying to puzzle out why people seem to be so absolutely afraid of actually having to read anything.

I think I'd reference The Time Machine at least twice. XD

I love it when people say they "can't keep up" with subtitles because they "move too fast". Seriously? You can't keep up with single sentences? O__o If you can't read a single sentence in your native language in less than a few seconds, I think you need to go back to elementary school or something.

I KNOW. Damn. You'd think people looking at movies from other countries wouldn't be surprised when they're in DIFFERENT LANGUAGES! OMFG! XD

It's like when "Pan's Labyrinth" came out. People actually didn't want to watch it after I told them it was in Spanish. *eyeroll*

Meh, the only French movie I ever remember seeing was Three Men and a Cradle.

Give me a DVD of Tampopo any day. XD

Isn't that the movie they based "Three Men and a Baby" off of? XD

You should've seen the reaction most people gave me when I told them "Pan's Labyrinth" was subtitled. You'd have thought I'd told them they killed babies in the movie or something. O__o

I still haven't seen that one.

And isn't DelToro directing the Hobbit movies?

That's what I heard. I think he could do good work with it, I really liked how he handled Hellboy and Pan's Labyrinth was great.

wow, so sad, person who would like to enjoy some French culture but more than likely can't read english, not the back of the movie and totally not sub titles, damn...

Well, I can see some people not being able to find where the language options are on movies (they're usually printed really small on the bottom)...but why go looking in the foreign section for a movie if you want a movie in English? Might as well just look in Action or Drama instead. :P
