I may have accidentally bought a motorbike. I'm blaming devilpump for this latest madness.

Wow! ... and I thought my new mountainboard was a dangerous impulse buy.

Not quite the same "impulse" as yours as I was sober when I bought it and I have been thinking about one for a few weeks... But still I know if I'd done my CBT first and spent a long time thinking about it, I would have never gotten around to it.

Expect amusing A&E stories.

What power/engine capacity is that? Are you going to do direct access training?

Just a 125 (14bhp I think, tops out at about 75 on the flat). I'll probably do direct access, but I'm really not interested in owning anything large as it's just for commuting purposes.

Well, they're not expensive, £15 a year tax and cost about £7 to fill the tank! Treat yourself, it'd be a fitting revenge for the mountain board incident.

I can ride motorbikes. I can get it home for you.

what's the spec? hey, is that actually a 125cc? brilliant!
ope it's not too heavy for its motor.

The dry weight is only 115kg which is very light.

that's good. lots of plastic that's fexpensive to replace then :)

that's what i've learned from my motorcycle training - bikes are like printers. they don't earn money on selling the bike, they earn money selling the plastic bits that break when you fall...

Which is exactly why I didn't want to buy a brand new one... I'd remove about 1k in value from it the first time I scratched the plastic up!

The guy at the showroom I went to tried to sell me a Taiwanese Kymco. Looked wonderful, but the top speed was 65 and it was pretty underpowered (even for a 125). Nice wide tyres though, which is the bit that worries me on the CBR as they're quite narrow.

The bike looks lovely!!! I REALLY want one but I would never get one. I know too many people that have died on them or been injured.... Sorry to say it!

Yeah, I know enough people who've seriously injured themselves on them... I'm just going to be using it for commuting though (6 miles each way) and the gym (5 miles) etc.
