You stayed because love is an addiction. It's just like being on crack but without the illegalness and it's hard to just say i quit when you really don't want to. Or at least that's my theory.

Oh and saying that you're happiness is fleeting was a bit screwed up/mean spirited. You're happiness isn't fleeting if you don't want it to be. Jealousy that you're happy without him?

Maybe it was wrong, but that doesn't mean it's your problem to deal with. I know you're trying to be a good friend to Amanda, but Alyssa's past has nothing to do with this. Nobody is perfect. I'm not trying to be mean about it, this is the last you'll hear from me. Thanks for deleting it.

I would like to go a step further than Sarah and say that love, as it stands for most people, is an extremely virulent disease. Granted, most of the time it is quite innocuous. However, it sometimes has the power to fell the strongest of souls. What you see as manipulative behaviour I view as the thoughts of a mind sickened by indecision. It is quite true that he wants you to feel as sick and indecisive as he. Thus, he is attempting to knock you out of your good spirit; rob you of closure. Don't let him! I'm sure, if given the opportunity he will continue this line until his needs are met. Stop him! The fact that you are bitter gives him more fuel to lash out at you. So......be indifferent to his venom. And, for your own sake, stop opening yourself up by meeting with him! PLEASE!

"most of the time, what we accuse a lover of being is often what we are ourselves." -ancient proverb.

I'm afraid I don't understand your meaning.
