Yes! Being made to eat my words. Listened to the previews on iTunes, and this mini is screaming quality right now.
Library: it reminds me of the Backstreet Boys' Just Want You to Know for some reason. But everything a good pop song should be tbh. I'm really liking the sound of this.
Goodbye, Hello - Thank you SM! This is not the Korean ballad I thought it would be. Sounds like something that would be played at the end of a movie with a happy ending. Sweet and saccharine but also grounded in its sound enough to be taken seriously imo
Love Sick - definitely a R&B tune. Smooth and takes itself easy, nothing in the vain of a Yoo Young Jin R&B song thankfully. It's not drowning in high notes.
Checkmate - Lordy lord, I am so pleasantly surprised. Sounds like a modernised showtune tbh
I'm so amazed. Expectations have been exceeded. My wallet is ready.
And to think a Japanese album is in the works. XD Me gusta
Still haven't listened enough to this to say smart things about it so who knows. OMG does sound pretty nice, but I feel with Kenzie tracks.. they've almost always got something good but lack that final bit to make them soar. I do think in general she's a more interesting producer than Hitchhiker although both suffer from that problem.
some thoughts:some parts just feels off for me..the band scene, it's like there's a disconnect between the scene and the song. maknae wants to rock but can't, taeyeon doesn't look interested. parts which held my attention n kept of bobbing my head at parts when they were doing some choreo. so while watching the mv the song felt slow and sluggish. didn't feel that way when listening to the song only. i actually really like the song.
good thing they had many change of costumes and some which are gorgeous. choreo looks easily executable too, so easy to follow
I'm just wondering what the concept is. Are they trying to go for the "glamorous girl" type of image? "Hey look at what I have~" I feel like each concept that they've undertaken has been a step away from that girl next door image of "Gee" (and it makes me think of the furor that came up with one of Yuri's Mamonde CFs).
It feels like they're trying for several different concepts - or maybe the concept is that you can do anything you want to? Also, it didn't feel like there was any chemistry between the girls - yes, there were some interactions between them and usually in MVs the interactions are over the top anyway, but it really felt like it was every girl for herself here. Actually, it probably would have worked better as an MV where each girl had their own version.
I also was wondering how are they going to sing this live? The choreo is simple, yes, but there's so much belting that it's going to wear down on their voices real quick.
I'm going to give the girls and SM the benefit of the doubt and assume that the MV was meant to be tongue-in-cheek a la "So Hot," or better yet, Judy:
But even if it wasn't, Seo is the most inadvertently HILARIOUS thing ever in the MV. Even more hilarious than her simpering tour de force in Oh! She perfectly embodies the parodic HAM Judy is doing above
( ... )
taeng was good for most part but seemed lazy. maknae shld be commended, cuz at least i rmb her being all kinds of awkward. and yes fany i don't even rmb what she did other than wink..

Otherwise, it's another Jpop replication a la "My J," except with less shitty production.

This is probably the Remee/Troelsen/Lucas Secon song.
There's no Remee or Troelsen on this album. Very nicely detailed credits: http://i.minus.com/iWFc5WC34CG5d.png http://i.minus.com/i9PdFpGXxumex.png

but as for songs in the album i adore baby steps.
