'Finally' is the first time I've seen anything approaching impressive sync work from the AKB crew. They sure are energetic and look pretty cool.
To be fair CN Blue and FT Island don't _mime_ (vocals) much even if they're not allowed to play the instruments live. Sorry to those plucky AKB gals but SCANDAL did a better rock mime job this week.
Lead vocalist is clearly miming but instrument-wise the others are daaaamn convincing, which is to say they're definitely playing the instruments, but I think the sound is too clean to be live? I don't actually know.
In my ignorance I thought that 'n64' group was actual rivals to akb at first, as in from a rival company with a lust for blood. Turns out they're the coy, parodically old fashioned and sedate version?

Don't forget "write a few lines as an excuse to post musical numbers by the truckload!" Besides, I confined most of the actual bitching to the lj this time. And it's been a while since I've done a really Jpop pimp post, the Momoclo in the last one not withstanding.
Hah, I'll just have to put a 48 sync post together at some point. Sure, they might not be able to approach SNSD's best days, but recently SNSD don't seem to approach their best days that often either, and there's a lot of context kind of justifying 48's messiness that SNSD don't have. The choreography for the NMB dance is like Hoot's: just doesn't look that impressive. But the second half of the dance break is almost like Shinee's Amigo.
I'm not sure if proper Jpop bands mime their perfs at all. Vocals are definitely live for the few SCANDAL perfs I checked just now, but since they can actually play it's harder to know if they're miming or just playing well. Here and here the guitars are plugged in, and it would be hard to mime that drum intro for the first link, so
