"It's the least important part of their career, financially."

Not seeing this? We have no info about how much they get from sales/tickes, but album sales and huge tour sales are bound to make them much more than the figures mentioned there.

Although.. the figures mentioned there seem inadequate as well... I don't know how they've calculated the various individual CF figures. If she gets 200 million won per job, Seohyun's got much more than the 400 million won they randomly name. They do tons of CFs as a group and this article also seems to ignore that.

Based on those DBSK contract postings, album sales, no. They get chump change from CD sales. One-time variety appearances go solely to the company to pay for staff/transportation costs, but they get to keep regular guest spot fees, a la DJing. Sunny's probably making more than Seohyun in that case. (Although Seohyun probably made bank from her WGM stint, too ( ... )

Aren't tours supposed to be the big stable source of income after the death of the album? Is it any different in Japan?

Am I right or imagining that SNSD are supposed to have re-signed their contracts once, recently? Or they're running out now. I assume they've negotiated a bigger piece of the pie.

SY dresses in the most ridiculously expensive clothing (thousand dollar scarfs) and Hyo buys cars and houses for her family, and those two don't really do CFs or individual gigs, so the huge sales have got go bag them a reasonable penny.

edit: I found this to be a very funny line: "According to T-ara’s agency on February 6th, the girls received an offer with a bigger guarantee than any other idol star endorsing chicken before them"
