Jpop version

But who care about that, because homg apparently those slave contracts make bank for the pretty ones. Shisus, no wonder their music is shit nowadays. It's the least important part of their career, financially ( Read more... )

Based on those DBSK contract postings, album sales, no. They get chump change from CD sales. One-time variety appearances go solely to the company to pay for staff/transportation costs, but they get to keep regular guest spot fees, a la DJing. Sunny's probably making more than Seohyun in that case. (Although Seohyun probably made bank from her WGM stint, too.)

I think they ignored group Cfs where SNSD as an entire group were signed, like Goobne or SPAO. I think this article solely focussed on activities where they don't split the payment.

Based on Japan, concert ticket sales, probably not,(ticket sales basically goes to recouping production and labor costs) concert merch, hellz yes. Groups in Japan with shitty album sales can survive for years off of concert merch sales from a dedicated group of wota. Then again, SNSD doesn't do individual member glowsticks or towels, or DVD Magazines. But I'm sure the poster/picture trading market is lucrative enough.
I wonder what the percentage is for a photobook/dvd as opposed to an album. They don't have to pay the songwriters' and recording studio fees for those.

OMG SWINGING BEAT MOURETSU <3333333
Lol, even Hyadain can't keep track of his intervals/chord progression, as ridiculous as it is.

Heh, the session for Santa-san and Coco-natsu is pretty good too, although it shows that Kakaka Kataomoi is basically the bubblegum perfection of that progression. Lol, injection of Santa into Ikuze!. ilu sfm, Hyadain.

Aren't tours supposed to be the big stable source of income after the death of the album? Is it any different in Japan?

Am I right or imagining that SNSD are supposed to have re-signed their contracts once, recently? Or they're running out now. I assume they've negotiated a bigger piece of the pie.

SY dresses in the most ridiculously expensive clothing (thousand dollar scarfs) and Hyo buys cars and houses for her family, and those two don't really do CFs or individual gigs, so the huge sales have got go bag them a reasonable penny.

edit: I found this to be a very funny line: "According to T-ara’s agency on February 6th, the girls received an offer with a bigger guarantee than any other idol star endorsing chicken before them"

Through the sales of concert merch, especially the member-specific ones.

Since Suju re-signed recently, I'd say SNSD re-signed at least one during their careers, although I'm not sure when. But in the DBSK contract reveal, they did say there was at least an annual meeting to renegotiate various terms as well, if not more than once a year.

Sooyoung had some MC gigs before, but I can't argue about Hyo, since she bought the car and house before IY2. But I think that money comes from the SNSD group CFs, not the album sales.

We need a Idol Chicken Index. It seems like a freaking rite of passage at this point.

Or just food in general. Or a comparison of which foods bag the most money XD (i.e. SNSD's done Domino's, Samyang Ramyun, Gubne ...)

Let's not forget Lipton now.

Man, I feel so proud of those 26 dislikes. What is wrong with me.
