sex surveys

Feb 24, 2006 20:59

I'd like for you to fill out a short survey for my English class. My group and I are doing a project about sex in America. Some of them are a little ambiguous, yes.. but we have to have 100 of them. If you'd like this to be confidential, you can always anonymously reply ( Read more... )

I feel that we are denying our teens the proper sex education. We are a "look the other way" culture. We believe if we tell them just dont do it, then we've done our part. We need more active sex education, not just Herpies slides.
11. I think we should start talking about it from the very begining, kids should understand sex better. It shouldn't be something we are affraid of, instead something we understand. Brittian has a far better sex education program than we do, they hand out condoms like candy and Im pretty sure they have less underage and unplanned pregnancies.

And i can safely say, that I'm a firm believer in birthcontrol. I think it's still considered taboo in some of our subcultures. ANd it shouldnt be...

10.I think Sex Education, although necessary, is a negative impact to our teens. It gives them the false security that they can actually have sex, just because they had the class on it. It's like getting a driver's license. But it doesn't mean you already know how to drive at first, but teens think they do anyways. Maybe postponing Education about sex til a later age will deter teenage sex. If they don't know anything yet, they won't do it.
11.I think the way that i was introduced to sex was appropriate. Field trip to the local museum during third grade. There was this presentation with this robot, and there were cool lights. lol. It was then that we grasp the concept of sex, but the consequences was introduced later as a teen, for me.

10)I think it actually teaches you HOW to have sex. I wouldn't have known otherwise. It's a good thing to inform kids of the risks involved in having sex

11)Waiting until at least middle school. I had this program called "Be The One" and it was young adults (like early 20's) teaching us about sex. It was way easier than listening to some old person tell us in an uncomfortable way. I think that's the way it should be.
