I can't say what I want to say about Collision until you've seen the whole thing apart from the fact that I would be totally OK with having an affair with Paul McGann. Or indeed, Lucy. Or both.
The anticipation builds...! Well, the last part airs over here on Sunday evening; not sure if I will be able to watch it straight away, but hopefully I'll get to it within the next few days. (And, yeah, my thoughts exactly. I have to have an initial CHEATERS ARE CREEPERS response just to make myself feel better, but then it's okay to indulge in the fact that it's fiction and they're pretty so whatever.)
So my plan was to watch the rest of Collision, then come back here and find out what special thing you wanted to say about the end of it, but now having seen it... uhhh... I'm pretty sure I can guess. ;)
I was going to say that if it annoys you that Lucy keeps getting cast as a young mistress it's starting to annoy me that Paul McGann keeps getting cast as people having pathetic mid life crises.
SO MANY THINGS THAT DELIGHT ME IN THIS HERE POST. :)
1. Lucy! 2. Collision is good! (Ok, my rejoicing over this has something to do with morose!Lucy 'oh dear, lack of good jobs' moments in an RPF I wrote which is a bit embarrassing BUT is also grounded in a genuine hope for the cast as a whole to keep getting work and do well. So.) 3. Richard! (Ahahaha.) 4. MORE CRANFORD. (Heh, Tim Curry. Unlike most of the population (?) I have not seen Rocky Horror so associate him more readily with Muppet Treasure Island.)
Question! Where did you acquire this? Was it via torrent or via One Of The Communities We Do Not Mention In Public Entries?
I discovered most of my favourite British actors/actresses from period dramas. I won't be content until Lucy does at least a Marple. Hell, guest-starring in Merlin would be kind of awesome too.
Lucy + Merlin = WHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTKLKJLSF;AFDSJAFSDJ;A <--- sound of my brain blowing a fuse if that ever happened.
Actually I'd really love for her to be in Romanticism period piece, something Bronte-ish... I'm pretty sure we discussed this somewhere on my journal before and my ultimate choice was to see her in an adaptation of Shirley (and of course RA would be in it too, and it would be the most fabulous thing ever).
I seem to only discover British actors/actresses from period dramas, haha. Wait -- you mean there are things on British TV that don't involve bonnets/Jane Austen/Charles Dickens? -- nooOOOoooOOO!! Well, now that I follow Spooks and Ashes to Ashes as well, there are a few more familiar faces from that (me while watching Collision: "Ooh, it's Prostitute from ep 3 of A2A! It's Criminal from ep 5 of A2A! It's Esther's boyfriend from Bleak House/Zoe's boyfriend from Spooks! It's...").
okay, it took me quite a while to actually read this post dude, IT'S NOT MY FAULT, how do you expect me to concentrate on words or whatever when lucy is RIGHT FUCKING THERE eye-sexing the camera like i dont even know!
anyways, am off on a collision based quest (how have i not heard of this!?! need to spend less time in the library...)
ps, her hair really is AWFUL there isn't it... what would maz think...
The hair has almost grown on me to an extent. Insanity, I know! But it looks much better in Collision than it does in that YouTube vid (it still looks like a cutesy-if-eyebrow-inappropriate dye job, but not like somebody wove her a wig out of old straw. Progress, okay!). And don't worry, I hadn't heard of Collision until lalumena posted about, so, y'know. It's all her fault, as usual.
