Yea, we're hoping to just stick her on MAX, but that still means going to pick her up. She's within half a mile's walking distance of a bus stop that would take her to a MAX stop but the family is all, "Ohh no, how dare you let your sister suffer walking in the ice and cold!" to which I reply, "So I'm supposed to risk my vehicle and other vehicles on the road including the lives of everyone involved just to save Val from a walk down the street?"
There is no right way to go about this, I can see it now.
Luckily, at the eleventh hour, one of the people my sister is living with offered to give her a ride to a MAX stop as he was apparently not going into work today (With good reason. It's snowing buckets here). So I was off the hook this morning. But yea, it really was odd that my folks weren't being very understanding. I guess they just can't imagine there being as much snow here as I'm telling them. Like I've said before, Portland gets snow maybe like once every two years and it only sticks around for a few hours. This week has broken a few records, I'm sure, but my folks just can't believe it. "Ohh, Adam, quit being theatrical. I'm sure the roads are more than okay for your tiny, light car with no snow tires or chains. You'd better not leave your sister to walk around alone. We expect you to go get her and see her off safely to PDX."
I bet you anything all this snow will be completely gone by the time they get home next week, which will just make me look even more a fool in their eyes.
