A Slow Weekend

Feb 28, 2007 01:40

It's been a slow week. I've been kinda sick all weekend, but it's not been too bad. About the biggest thing to report is that the family celebrated my mom's 50th birthday over the weekend. What's more, my aunt got married Tuesday. In terms of my family, it's been quite a weekend ( Read more... )

Awwww the poor little Bun Bun is bored. :(

And you didn't get to sell your DS's. Even sadder. :(

And "Happy Feet" won an Oscar. "HAPPY FEET"!!! WTF??? Stupid penguins dancing the entire movie. All because of some heart song thingy that Mumble doesn't have, he can't sing so he dances instead. Oh-kay. *grumble* NOT HAPPY JAN!!!

"Cars" was way better. I love Pixar.

They always ruin the good movies by giving them a crappy cover. Then no one watches/buys it, it gets released on TV and everyone is like "OMG I thought it looked like crap". Stupid marketing people. *grumble*

Go see "An Inconvenient Truth" it's a doco about global warming. Very interesting. Yes I love my doco's. :p

Hehehe Yea, it's been a rough week! I've been sick and bored, I couldn't sell any Nintendos, and the Oscars were a wash. I've seen that "An Inconvenient Truth" movie and it is a rather important film. It ended up winning two oscars on Sunday (Best song and best documentary).

Ohh, girl, it didn't just win Oscars, I think it pissed a lot of people off by just winning alone! Everyone knew it'd win for best documentary, but I don't think anyone imagined it'd win best song against three nominated songs from Dreamgirls.

People see it winning as a political statment. Which statement, however, is not clear. Take your pick. Is the Academy trying to push the idea of global warming? Does the Academy want Gore to run for president and by extension does it mean they disapprove of Bush? Or maybe... Just maybe... Could the song and movie been so good that it deserved the awards? All answers are interesting!

Aw, I'm sorry you've been sick. I hope you feel better. *Hugs* I agree with you: "Cars" should've won. That was a great movie and I really enjoyed it. It had a good message too. Oy, you had to take all those Nintendo consoles back?! That's messed up. Better luck next time, right? Better timing? Lastly--Happy Belated Birthday to your Mom! And congrats to your aunt! Exciting!

I'm open to Happy Feet being a good movie with a good message. My problem with the movie is that any message they're trying to send was lost and forgotten when they went to advertise the movie. I guess my point is that if the movie were so good, the advertising and promotions would have spoken to that like all the Pixar movies do.

I guess I'm kinda strange in my convictions, but the way I see it, if a movie doesn't get at least a taste of the plot across in it's trailers, I won't ever see it. Happy Feet struck me as a movie for kids by kids. However, it is an Oscar winner for best animated film of 2006, so now I have to look beyond the negative reviews and crappy advertising and just see the movie. I reserve the right to be wrong about any movie, and I'm always happy to be caught off guard by enjoying a movie that was improperly advertised. Happy Feet could be one of those movies. :D

Helped with the code? PSH. You pointed out code that I ruled out 2 days ago.

Then if you don't want to deal with code then put together some icons, for various link, that can be scaled down to 30x30. A main logo. I've got a toll forest logo scetched out. work work work.

Will have to watch that D movie. Though I'm looking forward to watching Borat. The 30 second bunnies made the movie look too funny.
