I have decided to make ToB in HD a Christmas tradition; therefore I have mulled wine and ToB. Almost-liveblogging results. Because I can.

Seriously, I came home from a proper Scandinavian Christmas table and that has a lot of ham. Loads and loads of ham. Yet it's nothing compared to the EPIC HAM THAT IS CONNIE IN FULL FLAILING STARING WIZARD MODE. <3 VINNNNNND!

A friend gave me the "Doctor Who 50 Years -- The Doctors" magazine/book thing for Christmas, and you probably know this already because you know everything, but just in case you don't, I read about Patrick Troughton in it and it says that initially, he wanted to disguise himself when playing the Doctor because he was convinced that it would kill both the series and his own career stone dead, and didn't want anyone to know it was him playing the character, so

"he started sketching out (literally) various character ideas. Remembering WC Fields in Mississippi, he fancied himself as a 19th century steamboat skipper. Remembering Conrad Veidt in The Thief of Bagdad, he determined to 'black up' and wear a turban. Remembering himself in the 1950 Disney version of Treasure Island ... [etc.]" (page 22)

You know, I remember reading that somewhere ages ago, but way before I fell head over heels in lust with Connie. While I'm glad we didn't get a blacked-up Two (apart from Salamander, technically), I SHALL JUST SIT HERE AND SCREAM QUIETLY FOR A BIT.
