Deep Blue Sea (no spoilers)

Basically, felt sad for everyone and love makes you miserable. Beautifully, beautifully shot and acted, though. Everyone was brilliant, and I just need me some more Rachel Weisz being angsty. (Really need to see Agora one of these days.) And I must stop dithering and finally buy The Fountain on DVD ( Read more... )

I'm assuming this is a different Deep Blue Sea to the movie with Samuel L Jackson and a bunch of mutant sharks...

I just knew someone was going to bring that up... this could've been a bit less depressing with the addition of a couple of sharks, I'm sure. And Samuel L. Jackson asking if real power wants a magazine or something.

Well, it *would* be nice to see SLJ do some proper serious acting acting - it's been a while since I've seen any of that from him, though he does do it now and again, between the usual "compulsory badass" appearances.

"Samuel L. Jackson does Terence Rattigan" is an interesting concept. I'd certainly pay to see it.

I'm your woman, in that case. If you haven't seen any of the following, I'd recommend:

I Want You
The Lovely Bones
My Blueberry Nights and, to a lesser extent
The Constant Gardener

I haven't seen Agora, I'm a bit afraid about how it all ends for her....

See, I'm worried about watching any of those just because I'm afraid of the angst levels! I think I could only manage this one because I wasn't too wibbly and could detach myself a bit. And yeah, Agora would probably give me too much gender/religion rage, so that's one of the reasons why I've dodged it so far. But hey, thanks for the tips!
