John acting his socks off in Exile inspired this, basically. I'm sure there are so many mannerisms I've left out, but I tried to stick to traits that pop up with several Simm characters and not just, say, Sam or his Master and so on (otherwise, we'd be here all day). I don't know many actors who can do vulnerable the way he does. A lot of the time I can enjoy drama and suspend my disbelief and all that, but there's just something about John's acting that feels so raw and real it takes my breath away. Seeing him cry is like a punch to the gut. And since he was at his most sympathetic in LoM, that was just the worst/best thing ever.

Oh God, this is lovely.

I especially enjoyed the "Sucks his lips in when annoyed" (with palm-chopping), "Gets a completely mad, glassy glint in his eyes" (a personal favourite), and "Swaggers like a goddamn pimp".

Oh yeah. And EVERYTHING ELSE ♥ ♥ ♥

Hilarity. For years I have had my own informal drinking game. The IJSCS (Infamous John Simm Crying Scene) nalways has to make an appearance.

YES. Excellent. There could be an entire drinking game just for the crying scenes, man. And writing separate ones just for Sam or Simm!Master would take forever (and kill one's liver even faster). "Drink every time Sam cries/is thumped by the Guv/is menaced by the TCG/yells at the television/cries some more"...

I would play this game, but I really do fear for my liver... Perhaps this is something to do on the honeymoon!!!

The naked bit is from Forgive and Forget, which is a godawful movie. So that's pretty much the only good thing in it:).
