More Tumblr ramblings

Sometimes I feel so conflicted about Tumblr. You get much more of an audience there for all kinds of fanart and shit, but the downside of that is that there's also this culture of writing your own content attached to other people's pics. Which is great sometimes, if it's really hilarious captions and stuff, but I've just had someone writing ( Read more... )

Hasn't LJ been terribly quiet lately?

It's probably due to the arrival of spring, with better weather and lighter evenings causing people to spend less time at their computers. (Though that doesn't apply to me; I'm too addicted to the Net.)

*Snort* My favorite comments on that Invisible Master .gif were the young 'uns reblogging it just to say "I don't get it." Wait a bit honey, it'll dawn on ya.

Just to say, I'm listening to the Basshunter remix of Leekspin and that gif goes perfectly.

Yes, tumblr does have its highs and lows. Maybe think about posting the higher quality / more personally important gifs or pictures over here, rather than tumblr? That way, you still get traffic on there, but the serious quality stays on LJ.

ahahaha, oh shit. Timecock shagging to Finnish folk music. Don't make me write a timecock version of that in Finnish... please:).

Well, I'd also like for the Tumblr folks to see the serious quality stuff, so that's a dilemma. Especially as LJ stuff doesn't really get that many comments these days. If I really get like three comments on a porn gif here and 100 likes on one on Tumblr, it's a massive difference--and yeah, I know LJ doesn't have a like button, so that skews things, but I'd still like to spread the happy porn to as many people as possible. Hell, it isn't even an ego thing--I just know that wherever I was, *I'd* want as much access to hot timecock porn as possible, so I like to spread it around. And I doubt Tumblr folks would be all that eager to click on LJ links if I just posted those. Hmm. :/

I confess, I've not really been able to get into the whole Tumblr thing. I do have one, and I occasionally stalk other people's, but I never have any idea of what I myself ought to post. Nor do I really get the reblogging bit. But then, I expect that's more down to how I personally function on the internet than anything else.

What's your journal called on Tumblr?

I get the reblogging bit as a way of spreading awesome stuff around, but I'm not so big on attaching stories and stuff to the pictures. It very rarely works and is probably the worst on porn blogs which can utterly ruin an incredibly erotic picture by posting captions like "fat whore getting stuffed lol she likes cock" or just... badfic.

Culumacilinte's the username.

I mean, I understand the reblogging, theoretically, but eh. I guess I don't really feel like tumblr accomplishes much for me that other platforms don't already. I'm on Twitter, so that kind of serves my needs as far as bite-sized pieces of awesome or linking art or pictures, I think.
