I hadn't listened to this song in years. And it breaks my fucking heart. It's just simple and beautiful and about those moments, those short fleeting moments when you suddenly Get Things and the small hopes and slight melancholy of all that and everything ( Read more... )

Belatedly catching up.

I've found that when I recommend a cherished song, book or whatever to a friend, their reaction to it is almost always a disappointment to me. Clearly your own experience has been the same. People's tastes vary so much. Which is a preamble to saying that I liked "One Second", but I'm afraid that I didn't think: "Wow, this is fantastic!"

It's... sucky when that happens, yet it shouldn't matter that much if you otherwise click with the person and get them/they get you on other levels. But... meh.

Wow. I can't believe I've never heard this song before. It's beautiful. I love the piano in the intro, the bit with the strings and that guy's voice is doing funny things to me. I love the whole concept of that one second of connection. It's just...moving, I think is the right word. Thankyou for putting it up :) Sorry, I get silly about songs sometimes.

Should be a Doctor/Master fanvid y/y?

DON'T APOLOGISE FOR BEING SILLY OMG. Because I am silly about certain songs. I wouldn't even whine at LJ about the rest of their stuff even if there are Important Songs in there, but probably because this is so... universal? And probably has a wider appeal genre-wise.

I wish I could vid. I'd probably be disappointed in any vid made from this one, however good it was.
