I'm going to explode if I don't post this.

I hadn't listened to this song in years. And it breaks my fucking heart. It's just simple and beautiful and about those moments, those short fleeting moments when you suddenly Get Things and the small hopes and slight melancholy of all that and everything ( Read more... )

muzak, general nostalgia

I'm DL-ing. I can't tell you if it touches me the way it touches you until I listen to it fifty times before I go to bed. That's what I do with all the songs I'm obsessed with.

(Right now I can't go to sleep without listening to Creep by Radiohead...weird, huh?)

Count me among those who've never heard this before, but I love it! Thank you for turning us on to it - shall be hunting downloads this weekend, I think.

I don't think I've heard the song before but I can feel the "Wow". (For me it is more in the music itself than the lyrics but I have a feeling this song could really grow on me) It's funny how important some songs are and how we wish we could share them (I guess that is part of why being a fan is so wonderful; you really CAN share the power of those songs with someone who understands your enthusiasm).. and then if someone doesn't like them it is a bit like they told they don't like something about you.. hmm.. but of course music can carry so much emotion & memories that maybe such mutual understanding requires similar moods, memories & emotions as well..

*sigh* it is true. Probably the reason why I'm pimping and flailing so hard is when I'm trying to say "ok, it's a Paradise Lost song but isn't grunty metal, HONEST, plz listen" and stuff--I know I have preconceptions about bands, most of them right:P. And you're right, it is like being told something about yourself when you get something to touch you that deep inside. Even though what touches us, musically, seems to be really really individual and sometimes left to chance, just like all questions of taste. It's a strange little world...

Wow! This is the sort of stuff I really like. Really emotional music. It reminds me of the kinda music I listened to whilst writing my Star Wars Fic - (all highly emotional stuff) and which really got me into the mood to write.

Actually, thanks for sharing the link - I'm gonna check out some other stuff by this group now :)

PL are quite varied in their output and sometimes the lyrics can be a bit lame and confusing. They were pretty much my favourite band from 1993 to 2000 or so, but then I lost interest. Some of the older stuff still means a lot to me, though.
