It's creepy, but not because I don't want to know who is looking at me. My journal is friends only, so I know no one is looking at me.
Livejournal is just so stupid. I really like LJ because my friends are on here and it has better security and a better filtering system than other bloggy places. I would really like for it to stay afloat, but sometimes it seems hell bent on destroying itself. Hasn't this idea killed every social networking site that's tried it? I'm thinking about Friendster, which I was too young for, but I'm pretty sure that's what killed it.
At least you can opt out of this, which I did. For people who opt in, it's just going to make them feel sad people aren't reading their journal and make them feel hesitant about clicking on random journals. They'll like the site less, use it less, and then death and destruction of the el jay! I might be being a bit dramatic.
Where IS it? I haven't seen anything in my options!
I participate in comms, so I do check out other users' profiles fairly often. I am torn on whether I want to activate it or not (if I can ever figure out how!)
If you go to your account settings and look under privacy it should be there at the bottom. I thought this was something that was here, not something they were rolling in.
You can always try it and if it drives you crazy turn it off. I think it would make me feel self conscious about everywhere I went on LJ.
