So I made a
Season 1 Blair Waldorf Fashion picspam almost a year ago and had so much fun reviewing her amazing wardrobe that I knew I was going to make a Season 2 picspam as well. The costume department didn't disappoint! I found so many gorgeous outfits that I decided to do a Top 25 instead of a Top 10, and I will be splitting it up into two parts. Here are numbers 25 - 12.
25.
(Bonfire of the Vanity)
Yes, the beret is a bit much for school (Okay fine, it's completely ridiculous. Only the thespians in my high school would dress like that to class.). But she looks so darned cute, and I love the scarlet of that cardigan against her hair. Blair rocks the red-white-and-blue color scheme. Even if it looks like she threw a party in the costume closet.
24.
(New Haven Can Wait)
Okay, I know the last outfit is better overall, but this one trumps it because it shows that even Blair's nightie is made of awesome. Even though we never see the bottom of this, I bet it could easily pass as a dress. This blue is so lovely, and look, it has ruffles! I just love me some ruffles. And how adorable is that last face?
23.
(Pret-a-Poor Jenny)
Yes, it's not anything super-special (we're only on #23 here!), but out of all of the incarnations of Blair's uniform this season, this one was my favorite. The houndstooth skirt, the red bag, and the tights. So playful, but classy at the same time.
22.
(The Magnificent Archibalds)
I loved the silhouette of this dark green dress when Blair wore it alone, but I think I like it even more paired with the grey coat and beautiful chocolate bag. It was also an excuse to include Dorota in this picspam. (Side note: What is up with these stupid CW logos messing up some of these screencaps, grrr!)
21.
(Bonfire of the Vanity)
I don't really know why I like this outfit so much. It's trendier than what Blair usually wears, but it still suits her. Cute side ponytail too. I can't decide whether the belt is really necessary though. Thoughts?
20.
(Summer Kind of Wonderful)
Though I like Blair's bikini from Season 1 more, this swimsuit has such a retro feel, and it's so feminine. There's no denying it's completely Blair. (I love the faces she makes in these caps as well).
19.
(The Goodbye Gossip Girl)
I know I've devoted an entire post to this outfit before, but I had to include it somewhere. What I love about costume designer Eric Daman is his knack for pairing colors that you wouldn't usually find together and making it work. The baby blue cardigan, bright red tights, and yellow headband sound like a trainwreck on paper, but it looks so natural here.
18.
(There Might Be Blood)
I totally didn't realize how pretty this dress was until I was searching for screencaps. I wish she could have lost the sweater and I wasn't feeling the hair, but she looks like an understated pearl next to Emma's flashy slutty!dress.
17.
(The Serena Also Rises)
Sure, Serena was the star of this episode, but was I the only one who thought Blair looked ten times better than Serena did? Cute dress, cute headband, and they should definitely give that hair stylist a raise in those first two caps!
16.
(Bonfire of the Vanity)
I don't get why people hated this outfit so much. But then again, I've never met a polka-dot print I didn't like, and the sleeves on this dress are adorable. To be fair, it's a little too much blush, but I'll let it slide.
15.
(Southern Gentlemen Prefer Blondes)
This is the kind of dress you forget about until you open your closet and it stares at you with all of its irresistable girliness and you remember why you bought it. The cut of the neckline and the fluttery sleeves are so feminine and flattering. Love it!
14.
(Southern Gentlemen Prefer Blondes)
It's a color you wouldn't expect to find in Blair's closet. But with all of its bows and little buttons and fluttery sleeves, it's definitely B. I'm such a sucker for pretty blouses. The skirt looks a little questionable (I'd need a better cap of it), but the blouse alone is worthy of #14.
13.
(The Magnificent Archibalds)
This blouse is a masterpiece. Paired with the skirt, it screams Thanksgiving. I don't know what else to say besides I WANT IT!
12.
(You've Got Yale)
This is so something Cher Horowitz would wear. Pink plaid! Lace poking out from under her sleeves! And then to finish this picture of perfection, white tights! She looks so much like a doll. If she had sent in a picture of this outfit, Yale totally would have reconsidered.
[Edit: cbassluv pointed out that this is one of Blair's school uniforms as well. This might make me reconsider what I said earlier about #23 being my favorite. Both are amazing in their own ways.]
That's the end of Part 1! Thanks for reading! Comments are always appreciated. :)
Sorry, I don't have any designer info. There's plenty of websites out there for that, but this isn't one of them. As always, a huge thanks to l-meester.org for their wonderful screencaps.
Stay tuned for Part 2. I'll (hopefully) have it up by the end of this week.
