I love front loaders. I used them long before they became popular. They use less soap and less water. I think they are easier on fabrics, too. You will use far less detergent with the front loaders than the top loaders. Also, you may find that the first time you wash your clothes in it, they may have some detergent residue left over from the top loaders. I wonder if you could get used parts from a salvage area or a used appliance repair person.
I think I see your washer is outdoors. Is that where it stays? I know lots of people in warmer climates keep their washers in garages or outhouses. That would never work here with our cold temps. The pipes would freeze.
We're both fortunate to have such handy husbands! And my son has followed in his father's footsteps. He called tonight to ask about installing a ceiling fan in his bedroom. His dad walked him through it. Of course, he would have to climb through the attic in the dust and insulation when it is 100° out!
I was dubious on front loaders for a long time because there was hardly any water involved. "How can it clean if there's no water??" :P But my sister has one and Grandma has one and they are amazed themselves but swear by it. I like the fact that it uses so little water because we are on water restrictions
