[Action] Egg run.

Nov 19, 2009 16:54

[Even with that new area of available floor space, a man can only stay in the same apartment for so long before...leaving it. And even Usopp, invested in testing dials and less than eager about running into potential psychopaths as one can get, is but a mere man. So what does a man do when he's going out and about for the hell of it ( Read more... )

*action, most helpful android ever, squalo, stand by your giant slingshot, just let me get my damn eggs, luka

[Luka can be found at the store too searching for ice-cream for her brother and some other food, specially now that she's practicing cooking. She has had the theory and several recipes in her database for nine months, about time she began to use them since there's nothing else to do.]

[Aha, questions he's always glad to answer, because he actually knows what he's talking about.]

Yeah! I'm the ship's sharpshooter. I don't use a gun, though, I use a slingshot, kind of like this [He'll fish his first one out of his pocket to show her] only bigger, and it shoots a lot farther.

And nobody makes ammo for slingshots, so I make my own. I don't use fresh eggs a lot, only once or twice when I don't have a choice. If I find the right kind here, I'll let them get rotten so that it'll distract the enemy. I also make other ammo, too! There's a kind that explodes, and a tobasco one, or sometimes I just use regular pachinko balls or rocks.

[Little bit of laughing.] Guess it really depends on if I run out of one or the other.

[Listens with attention.] I see, rotten eggs... That's a great idea! The smell can be really awful and if you get them in the face with the mouth open they will be out in a moment, yet no one gets seriously hurt. That's a great idea, Captain Usopp! [Wide smile, oh yes that's admiration what you feel there.]

[She sounds a bit worried but nothing serious.] How are the exploding ones? They... They don't damage people too badly, right? Though it's a bit strange, being a pirate, even a good one, one would expect you to use something more... Deadly. Like acid balls.

[And here is your smile in return, because how often did anybody ever compliment his less-damaging ammunition? It'll be getting a little softer now upon that touch of worry.]

Ah, the exploding ones would probably be pretty damaging to normal people, but usually anyone I use them against just walks right through them. [Like Arlong. And, less desired to remember, Kuma. Or that light guy.]

I don't really...like the idea of using something more deadly. There are a lot of pirates who play with death like it's nothing, and they're definitely dangerous enough to do it. It's harder not to kill people, on the Grand Line, but we try anyway because we want to be different from them.

Acid balls, though, that's pretty interesting...

[She looks relieved at that.] I understand, I know being a pirate it's to be expected that you would be deadly but... You and Mr. Brook seem to be so nice, it's hard to imagine either of you killing a person easily.

Have you gotten very far in the Grand Line? With what you told me and what Mr. Brook said about Moria it does seem like an extremely dangerous place. If you have managed to reach far with this way of thinking... That's impresive and more admirable than having a big crew, at least in my opinion.

We got pretty far. Made it to the halfway point, actually.

[Let's get a little disturbed.] We got into a fight with some bear guy, though. I think if a few of us hadn't shown up here, I wouldn't be seeing anybody for a while.

Impressive.

[Disturbed here too.] So you were... Separated? It's strange to think that being sent here was a good thing for you all...

Ah, as good as getting here could be considered, I guess.

Yeah, I suppose it must be hard for a pirate of freedom to be stuck in one place. But how were you separated to begin with? Even if you got into a fight and got separated in it, the distance wouldn't be that much, would it?

I don't really know how he did it. Some kind of Devil's Fruit, I think. We were fighting and Zoro was down, and this guy just- it was like he was going to hit him, only-

He was there one second and then he was gone. Same thing with Brook and I guess me and everyone else.

[That's confussing but it's obvious he's as confused as her, which is bad 'cause it's his world the one with those fruits.]

I see. Then you're probably right and were indeed separated by middle or long distance. Though I doubt that would last for long even if you hadn't been brought here!

[Shows a cheering smile.]

Can I help you with your groceries?

[It's nice to see someone with that kind of faith, even if she hasn't met all of them yet. He'll smile back.]

Sure! I just came for eggs today, but I wonder if they've got any tobasco sauce around here...
